Iv had a MH registered car in Gurgaon for around 9-10 months without any problem.

Narayan , I don't think you should have a problem as such !!

Narayan you need not worry, there wont be be any such problem at all here.

@narayan : No worries mate just relocate and drive. No such problems here till now.

narayan,
I have seen lots of vehicle here in Gurgaon with outside number, so it should not be a problem.

In any case, if police questions you, just mention that you are visiting and not staying.

Exactly my question, I too will be moving to Gurgaon in Nov.
My car is Karnataka registered (KA no)
Is it possible to register the car in Gurgaon/Delhi If I get a NOC from Banagalore RTO? My car is EURO II, so will there be problem getting it registered in NCR Region?
If It somehow gets registered, Can I get back some percentage of my Road tax from Bangalore RTO? If yes, how to go about it.

Thanks in Advance.

Listen Guys - there is no problem driving out state reg cars in NCR / Delhi.

I have a Agra registered car in Delhi for the last 4 yrs which I keep in Delhi. Also I run HR registered cars in Agra ( UP ). No problem in the last 10 yrs.

Only problem you face is when there are blockades on the road or during midnight if you are passing a cop barrier - chances are with an outside reg car, cops might stop you - for routine check up or paper check.

Other than this hundreds / thousands of Out state cars running on delhi s roads especially NCR Area where lot of IT / BPO ppl come from S.India / W.India so no problem there mates !!

Do remmeber to take part in T-BHP meets here in delhi though !!! :)

If you wan we can have a TBHP Agra meet also, or may be a drive from Gurgaon to Agra on weekends, I am basically from Agra and my parents live in Narotta Kunj ( Near COD, Army Area).

And I am asking about the road tax part because I paid almost 52K as road tax, So If I some how manage some refund, And I know road tax is negligible in Delhi and I can get it registered in Delhi(NCR) which will help me selling my car in future.

Cheers.

i have a good track record in that aspect - have attented all tbhp meets in chennai since i joined :)

thanks for the response guys...so per se there is no day to day pain value...great..

actually the company is paying for reg transfer but i thot of not doing it bcos im told resale value down south is much more than in delhi and so im better of not having a north plate..thats why these questions...

but one part of the question is unanswered - can i still pay tax for a year or two and drive legally ?!!

narayan,
the road tax that you have paid for your car
entitles you to drive throughout india, just the way your driving
licence is valid throughout india..
as long as your registration certificate, insurance and pollution
control certificates are in order and you carry a valid licence,
you should have no trouble..
haryana/delhi transport authority will charge the roadtax only
when you transfer the car and reregister with them..
hope this helps..
cheers

gotzuk , you slightly wrong there --- if you drive a car in Karnataka that ain't registered there , you bound to have trouble unless you can prove that you just passing through . Infact I wasn't even aware of such a situation till someone mentioned it around here .

Cheers
