Wanted - Good reliable driver!!!

I know, not your regular marketplace ad! Its difficult finding a good/reliable driver these days due to the call centre/bpo cabbie boom.

My mum has chosen to give up driving rendering her immobile. Dad puts in long hours and I dont think the drive home in Bangalore's hellish traffic does his BP any good. They wont go out and find a driver also so Im taking it upon myself to do so.

We live close to SultanPalya (RT.Nagar) so anyone from the vicinity might help. What does one pay a driver these days? 4k Monthly?

If anyone can generate any leads it would be useful.

Do you want anyone to sell you a driver ? he he he. i thought we got past slavery. Just joking soul.
a good driver is very very very hard to find. good luck

Edit : a good driver should cost you at least 8k a month apart from incentives & perks

... These guys have the potential of earning in excess of this amount with OT etc. Demand far outstrips supply as well. Hence the cost of having - and more importantly RETAINING him - has gone up considerably.

In Bangalore the scene is worse than anywhere else.

Shall I replace the title to "wanted - driver" :(

R2D2 is currently unemployed!! But seriously Vid has been looking for a good driver for quite some time & apparently they are very hard to find. Even up North where there is an abundance of labour good drivers, wh can drive the car nicely & not try to steal from you are a rarity.

Welcome to the club my friend. It's been a year since I've been without a driver. Looking desperately for one.

Around 6K looks to be an ok amount. People here pay upwards of 7K.

Very difficult to find. I have various interesting stories of aspiring applicants.

Same problem, my mom can't drive rendering her immobile. My dad is always grumpy these days since he has to drive through the horrid traffic.

That would be for a top-of-the-line driver, who has been with you for a couple of yrs atleast. Else, 4-5K sounds more reasonable ..

Condorji, If you can get me a driver for 5K, I would be ever so greatful. Till now all drivers have asked for upwards of 6k.

I used to give 5K. 2 drivers left after a month. After that started giving 5.5K. got 2 drivers. One lasted for 2 months, the other for 7 months.

One year so far without a driver.

Ishaan, R2D2 is now the MD of Star Interiors Inc & doing quite well at that. That is hardly being unemployed. Maybe you should try with boogle boy, everytime I ask him if he is working he says NO! I take that as a answer to being unemployed.

HeHe, never thought of taking TBHP help for my quest for drivers, I'm the president of the driver hunting union, 2.5 years and 18+ drivers so far, only thing missing on my car (or rather my wife's car) is the xxx driving school board.
Some drivers have not lasted even a day, the current one once resigned from the job over phone!!
Now he's back and touchwood, he's a good guy. Am paying him 4.5k. (drives about 35 kms per day) I actually pay drivers to do nothing but sit near my wife's office the whole day

More seriously, RT nagar area has a salary range of 5-6 k, anything above would be desperation on one's part. All the best on your quest.

Do driver's salaries follow real-estate prices ?

You know the drift then. We had a driver with us for many many years. Slightly lazy bugger as far as keeping the car in tip top shape, but otherwise reliable. Unfortunately due to some medical complications he has lost both his legs. After that we never really bothered to get anyone else. But now Im really feeling the need for it as there is so much extra headache and tension.
