I believe theres also a boutique in the Taj. Mont Blanc pens are available in Heera Panna too but Id stay away from them unless you really know how to judge authenticity and can make sure its a new unused pen.

Other than Mont Blanc Cross is good too if one is on a budget and is officially available in Crosswords stores, though it must be said that nothing comes close to Mont Blanc in terms of brand value (atleast in India). The white snow cap on the top of their pens has indicated sucess for many years now.

(Im really sounding liek a Mont Blanc representative arent I)

The fountain pens are a lot more expensive but hold their value a lot better than roller***** which are really convinient to use.

Manaa,

Just go to the Mont Blanc outlet mentioned above and pick up a roller ball type. I dont use mine that much, but it is on its 3rd year without a refill.

If its a gift, the showroom will also engrave the name of the person on it.

Ya Mont Blanc refill works good. But buy them from the show room itself other wise in local market there are lots of fake ones...

About the name engrave is available for the moon walker series. Might be available for other series also. There main model is meisterstuck which is quite popular in the fake market.

I use MB on a daily basis - the ball point is best for me, though there are those that prefer the roller as well.

I do have a fountain pen, but for fountains I prefer my Lamy as its less decorative and much more functional - the MB fountain pens have nibs that are too ornate and I cant be bothered to be extra careful with them.

The Starwalker series makes a nice gift that is not too intimidatingly formal to use on a daily basis. After the new Starwalker Blue came into the market, the original and very good looking Starwalker Black seems to have taken a back seat - which is good from a pricing standpoint.

Go for Meisterstuck only if its a gift to an old man.

Yeah, he gets a new one to every meet. He also might be able to give you a good deal on them.

for regular use (read- for someone who wants to use them and not have them only as an ornament on their pocket), the starwalker and Meisterstuck are good options. I use a Miesterstuck on a daily basis and have had no issues till date- Mine is a fountain pen and the only precausiton I take is to use only Sheaffers ink.

In case the pen is to be used by/gifted to a lady, you could also consider the Greta Garbo and Marlene DIetriech editions, depending on personal preference.

IMHO, if one were to invest in a classic like a MB, it makes more sense to by a fountain pen to get the real experience....
