I am not trying to say that climate change does not exist. We do cause it.

What I am trying to say is, this low temperature is not necessarily caused by climate change since this lower temperatures have happened in past when environment was much better.

IMO it has been colder than usual in most parts of the country - even Namma Madras had unusually nice weather till when I left 2 weeks ago.

Actually, I think it has been colder than usual around the globe. Tokyo saw snow this year (not a regular thing, I hear) and where I am currently (North Japan), it is a freezing-your-bollocks-off -12 deg C.

I would rather have the summer of Chennai than this bone-chilling weather.

Relax buddy. Mumbai is cool today (9.4C). But it was 7.2C on January 27, 1962. What has changed in these years? Nothing except your anxiety level.

Is it Global Warming (GW) or Global Cooling (GC) in action?

All these make me think whether GW/GC are just illusions? Hoax?

any stable equilibrium, when disturbed, swings to both sides, hence hot and cold weathers.

Also, keep in mind that earth works on daily dose of heat from sun. any obstruction, whether because of GW or GC, will only cause earth to cool down. unfortunately, this cooling will not reverse the GW enough to stop it.

and trust me, nature and environmental factors are much more complex than what I and you can deduce from current conditions.

I dont know if it makes sense..But..

The lower the temp. goes, the higher it will rise..

I mean see the Desert places..It xtremly hot during summers and xtremly cold in winters..

Or take Delhi as an example..
People may be freezing now..but what happens in Summer??

I dont know if it will happen (i hope not) but Mumbai will record its highest temp this time..and possibly a low rainfall rate.

So people..

This is the time to go to the beach at 2.00 AM and enjoy a cuppa coffee there or a cigarette as well. Just perfect time to go out on a date or to propose to someone special...Very special!

Guess I am in love.

Wow!

There's a true reminder that I am surrounded by some mad car lovers. This can only happen on Team-BHP.

Here's another plus point. Your cars will make more power because of all the "cold air" intake.

Yup- loving the temperature but its too smoggy out there. And with my sinus problem - it gets only worse. The cold is great though.

But I prefer the sun and warmth over cold anyday. I like to get hot and sweaty

Up North Centigrade Meter:

Chandigarh
: Between 2 to 5 degrees.
Amritsar : Between 0 to2 degrees
Katra(J&K) : Between -5(maybe lesser) to 0 degrees

Now beat this. All the rest in my travelogue thread being posted soon.

P.S. Scotch was only alongside till Amritsar. After that no Daru Sharu. HAd to make do with coffee and some great pahadi tea

a related question,

what is the minimum temperature beyond which cars can not operate WELL? I am not referring to starting, but for a running car.

and what is the optimum temperature (outside air) for a car's performance? fuel economy, power output etc.
