damn I quite like the smell of petrol - better stop hanging around the bunk! :D
Diesel fumes causing stress explains why we have all those mad cabbies who use their Indicas and Qualis's like guided missiles.
yes. This habit is called glue sniffing and is very addictive. I remember as a kid i used to love the smell of petrol from the Amby . Have now upgraded to a Beemer. Smells nicer :D
Diesel fumes also were shown to enhance the brain functions of serial killers and I.T. professionals.

I agree. I became much more successful in my career after I switched to a diesel jeep. cheers:
P.S. i am an IT professional not a serial killer.
People got to realize that there are many ego maniacs in the science and research and sometimes their only hope of getting their name in the news is to publish a *sensational* report. The press then needs it share of circulation and joins the melee. That's why every now and then you get news headlines like:
"Yogurt can kill you"
"Dogs help find peanut stuck in man's brain"
"Scientist claim that hugging cows is good for you skin" etc...

And how is that, DirtyDan ?
I don't know about you guys, but I for one do not have the exhaust redirected into the cabin.
So my cars tailpipe is enhancing or incapacitating the brain functions of the guys following me.
Aha, now I know why some of the truck/bus drivers behave like retards :)
In developed countries clean diesel reduces sulphur part of the emissions from the fumes to a great extent. It's a matter of few years when WHO or Euro5/BS 5 emission norms will be implemented and the price of diesel will almost be 25-30% higher ! Clean diesel is the way ahead and ahead & all passenger vehicles would have a DPF by rule.
Clean diesel negates the sulphur content to a level far below the present diesel which emits very high sulphur content.
W.H.O. Declares Diesel Fumes Cause Lung Cancer.
Diesel fumes cause lung
cancer, the
World Health Organization declared Tuesday, and experts said they were more carcinogenic than secondhand cigarette smoke.
It is particularly relevant to poor countries, where trucks, generators, and farm and factory machinery routinely belch clouds of sooty smoke and fill the air with sulfurous particulates.
“I don’t think it’s bad to have a diesel car,” Dr. Brawley added. “I don’t think it’s good to breathe its exhaust. I’m not concerned about people who walk past a diesel vehicle.

When will India reduce the sulphur content of Diesel to Euro IV norms. BS4 allows 50ppm while Euro IV is 5 ppm. This is the only relaxation from the Euro IV norms to BS-IV. Force this 5ppm limit, and increase diesel prices by Rs.10. Kills two birds with one shot!

Welcome to India: duality exists everywhere.
Prices.
Specifications too.
While BS-IV is applicable in selected few cities, the rest of India still gets to play with BS-III specs ...
