Really liked how Pat Cummins went yesterday. He bowled the last over of the power play, then one where he came on to get a rampaging Faf. And then one over to break a dangerous Lormor-DK partnership, especially after Markande & Unadkat conceded 46 in two overs.

Pat may have not gotten the breakthroughs, but the fact he took on the challenges himself, despite having good IPL bowlers like Bhuvi & Natarajan, speaks highly of his leadership skills.

Yesterday was the second consecutive match where RCB have conceded 200 in 15 overs. And their next games are KKR at home and again SRH away :D

Really feel for RCB fans, it's not even fun to troll them anymore.

All the more reason to leave some grass on the pitch & hope Topley,Ferguson & Siraj get some help. Faf & Virat with their experience will find a way to get some runs. Thats the only way I see them getting a few wins under their belt! The Chinaswamy pitch is a road + small outfield to make it worse for RCB.

It is extremely clear that a concerted effort has been made to make sure that all matches have tons of power hitting and ridiculous scores just to catch the most eyeballs possible.
Absolutely crazy day yesterday. RCB would’ve been better off if they played 11 batsmen and had kohli bowl 4 overs.
How this will affect the game itself and the national players is just not something anyone seems to care anymore.

Jos the Boss, Buttler the Butcher ! clap:

I can't think of one good reason for continuing with this stupid Impact Player rule.

They should scrap it before the mega auction so that all teams (except RCB who will suck anyway) can plan their auction & team strategy.

Fell asleep after the first innings yesterday between KKR and RR.
Mindless hitting. Might as well replace the bowler with a bowling machine.
Yawn.

Lost all interest in IPL. I don't watch it anymore. Wonder how players keep themselves motivated with all the mindless swinging that they have to do. They do take turns and they don't play every match the same swinging way.
They should try to make it easier for bowlers with pitches. You wont see all outs often since its only 20 overs and will be good to see the skill of both batsmen and bowlers.
Bowlers look stupid except maybe for Bumrah and Rashid :)

I read somewhere that it was a business decision by the BCCI keeping the stakeholders i.e. Franchisee Owners request in mind. I'm vehemently against this Impact Player rule! The likes of Shivam Dube & Tewatia have stopped bowling altogether thanks to this rule, still some sections of the media call them All-rounders! The likes of Shaw who's a terrible fielder can nicely take a rest in the dugout after his batting as he'll be substituted.

Makes complete sense for this impact player and now Rohit Sharma says it;

He says it is holding back the development of allrounders, with the likes of Dube and Washington not getting a chance to bowl in the IPL

At the half way stage, I think there are three young batters really impressed with their stroke play and composure.

Angkrish Rqghuvanshi (KKR)
Nitish Reddy (SRH)
Ashutosh Sharma (PK)

I am glad Rohit spoke about it.
That rule is an abomination to the development of cricketers. On the top of my head I can remember Tewatia and Shivam Dube who have completely stopped bowling. If Impact player wasn't there they could keep bowling and improving which will be better if they get international call ups. I hope sense prevails and it's removed next edition.

Nitish reddy can be developed as a good allrounder. He has all the potential.

Angkrish plays with freedom and has good technique.

Ashutosh is amazing. One or 2 innings can be a fluke. He has now impressed in 4 consecutive ones. If Punjab management wasn't so brain dead playing him at 8 he can do much better.

GT vs DC game was fun. For a change it was nice to see batters struggle when pitch assisted a bit and Bowling was on the mark.

Arshdeep has lost his way. Hasn't bowled well in ages. Whereas Mukesh has done well whenever pitch gives some support. Plus he did good when he toured Windies so he can be an asset.

Hardik bowled better yesterday. I hope he keeps improving and his batting still needs work.

Ashutosh Sharma (PBKS) was a real delight in the match against MI yesterday. This young lad surely has a bright future; needs to hone his skills well.

Not a Dhoni fanboy but looking at his form, I feel he can trump Samson, Ishan and even Pant for the WK spot for T20 WC.

There is a reason he is coming to Bat in last 2 overs every game. His knee is gone for a toss and was batting with calf strapped tonight. This will be surely his last season in IPL as his body isn't able to cope with it. That's why he is coming and just slamming every ball with minimal running between wickets.

I know but the way he is striking the ball, he batting just 10 balls could be a game changer in this format. Anyways, mine was just a wish which isn't coming true anyhow. For WK slot I would get Samson - Pant - Kishan, in this order of preference.
