Absolutely Sensational, what an amazing talent!! Great on RR also to back him and actually get him to play, I always thought they will maybe play him couple of seasons down the lane. Take a bow kid, you deserve all the accolades.

So what do you think after today's innings? :D

This is where our judiciary just wastes their time. This can't get more hilarious than this. Are we living in a banana republic.

Delhi Press, the publisher of 31 magazines in nine languages, has sued the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) over the alleged infringement of its registered trademark by calling the robotic dog, introduced as part of the broadcast coverage during the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League, ‘Champak.’ The matter came for a hearing at the Delhi High Court on Wednesday.

BCCI's argument - Senior advocate J Sai Deepak appeared for the BCCI. The BCCI counsel argued that ‘champak’ is based on the character of the Television Show ‘Tarak Mehta Ka Oolta Chashma’ and not the magazine.

Judge's reference to Virat Kohli - The judge questioned the publisher about why they hadn't filed a lawsuit against Virat Kohli for being called "chiku," a reference to another character in Champak magazine. rl:

Advocate Amit Gupta argued that the cricketer hasn't launched a product, whereas the BCCI has launched a product, which amounts to commercial exploitation.

I stand by my 'wait and watch' statement :)

What a performance by MI yday vs RR, a right way to go to the top of table. They were languishing at the lower end of the table and now they are on top. Each win to reach the top has been very clinical and kudos to the top order batting and the bowling which have ably supported in their wins. Hope they win the trophy this year.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi has a long way to go, instead of resting on laurels he needs to keep performing to be able to make to the India squad one day.

No doubt on potential, fearlessness, ability to read length, etc but in my opinion:
Without good footwork and playing the ball on merit, blindly throwing the kitchen sink at every ball won’t work always, there will be days when everything goes your way though!

Just as I shared this on a WhatsApp group with cricket loving friends yesterday, he got out scoring a duck in 2 balls (and it’s ok, perfectly normal).

Also, I hope this level of attention, hype and fame doesn’t get to him, would hate to see someone end up like a Kambli or Shaw!

I think Dravid sums it up well
here.

Thanks for your opinion and the RD interview link. Doesn't hurt anyone to give a personal opinion on a promising youngster. Our opinion aren't such big deals that we have to weigh them on weighing scales before giving them :D I agree with your opinion though. However on the footwork and playing ball on merit, there is a certain Mr. Sehwag who had proved that rule wrong lol: His footwork is glaringly lacking, but if he can make it up with his hand-eye coordination, he can definitely balance it out. What is more important is how he handles fame though. He looks and talks like a level-headed guy, so hopefully he will stay grounded and keep improving his gamemanship.

Greg Chappell has said the below and I completely agree.

Quote:

Talent must be guided, not glorified; nurtured, not just marketed
Greg Chappell has written a wonderful article on ESPN Cricinfo about young talents and what's needed to make them succeed. We shouldn't go overboard.

Beautiful article by Greg! It's a solace that Vaibhav has a mentor like Dravid in the RR ecosystem who is expected to take ample care of the promising talent.
