Brilliant Batting by KL keeps us undefeated. The way he changed gears was beautiful to watch.
Complete team win.

RCB was 53 in 3.3 for no wickets.
To restrict them to 163 was phenomenal work by bowlers and fielders.

Axar needs to stop coming ahead of Stubbs. Stubbs is an Elite international player who plays all 3 formats for SA and he should bat at 5 irrespective of scorecard. DC has strongest middle order in competition. Ashutosh and Vipraj aren't even needed after their 1st game heroics.

Rahul's innings was too good. He was run a ball for half the balls he faced and accelerated when needed.

He said it helped to watch the ball behaviour while keeping wickets. Its good that a keeper can do that if they have that intent. :thumbs up

CSK humiliated and destroyed at home, when the only moment of brilliance in entire match is a dropped catch, the rot runs deep.

Their age old formula of playing with experienced old players is not working from few years and this time they built entire team again around that thought. Game has moved on, CSK needs a move on to, feels sad to see how once the mighty have fallen so bad. 1 six in 20 overs vs 10 sixes in 10 overs.

I struggle to understand why fans lose their cool and sleep over private cricket clubs. I can understand the passion if it's over the National Cricket team or over the domestic state team. It's quite funny to see some of the YouTube videos of the "supposedly knowledgeable" fans outside Chepauk after CSK lose their matches. Some of the responses and comments are quite funny and toxic at the same time.

The cricketers make money.
The analysts / YouTubers make money.
The private club makes money.
The fans lose their money, cool, sleep and what not. rl:

Serves them right and their delusional fans who are cheering seeing Thala walking to Bat when team is at 72/7. And they still don't want to play any youngsters in their squad over these guys. They can't even trade them next season as no one will be interested in washed out players like Shankar, Hooda and Tripathi. Their best player Gaikwad is out of the tournament. They are doomed for this season and probably till next mega auction.

I am really upset DC is playing them only once this season. Could have gained another 2 points absolutely free ;)

Private club sports has always been a fan favourite for many years. National teams as well.

Why can't sports fans enjoy both? :)

As for CSK, they need this kick so that next season some drastic changes happen.

Once the fans stop coming for matches because of consistent losses, slowly team owners will have to react.

But till such time Fans pay money just to see Dhoni irrespective of whether team wins or loses, this thamasha will go on.

Sorry for the amateurish attempt at a meme :coldsweat

Absolutely they can enjoy the private cricket club matches. No problem at all with the enjoyment angle but looking at some of the responses and comments from the fans inside and outside the stadium, and also from ex-CSK cricketers, it appears they are not enjoying at all and are passing toxic comments and losing their cool. Fans keep complaining that they paid INR 15K in black for a INR 3K ticket :D

Enjoyment is very different to having a toxic fan culture.

Dhoni gets POTM award and dude was confused :D

Should've been Noor, despite lack of wickets. I know Economy is far from honoured in T20- especially IPL. But, just 13 runs in 4 overs on a pitch which gave little to no assistance to spin, is simply stupendous!

On the flip side, I think 'dude' is actually clearer than ever- at least on what it takes for CSK to win. It takes exactly such impressive bowling, miraculous catches (like Tripathi's), resulting is far below par score to chase, against arguably the least formidable line-up of bowlers in IPL on the opposition, for CSK to narrowly squeeze a victory.

Another season, another predictable collapse of Punjab Kings! Predictably every season they start red hot but by midway mark, they accumulate back to back losses and start the downward spiral to the bottom of the table. Sometimes I feel, we PBKS fans are even more resilient then the Bangalore fans in hoping for a trophy! :Frustratirl:

Quoting from espncricinfo.com:

Quote:

Venky swept the ball to long leg, Barlett ran to his left and picked up the ball cleanly, and then as he shaped to throw it back towards the pitch the ball slipped out of his hand and went to the boundary. Punjab's boundary fielding a bit of a shambles tonight. And because he was throwing that ball when it slipped out of his hands, it's been counted as four overthrows, in addition to the single they ran.

Mother of surprises.....Punjab Kings just pulled off a win defending 111 :Cheering::Cheering:

Absolutely brilliant game of cricket.

Yuzi spell was brilliant and no one predicted Punjab defending 111.

Varun said in half time this is a 180-190 wicket. We'll, it wasn't. :D

Does Vaibhav Suryavanshi has the potential of becoming the new Yashasvi for the Indian team? What is your opinion? Do you see him competing in the near future with Abhishek Sharma for the opener slot opposite Yashasvi Jaiswal?

He is just one innings and 30 runs old. Let's wait for a bit :)
