"I did not know this" show on National Geographic

I was watching the "I did not know this" show on the National Geographic Channel today. I was seeing this program for the first time today.

The need for tread.
They were testing on a wet track with a Nissan small car equipped with ABS. With new tyres the car stopped in 43 meters from a speed of 40 mph. Then they put on worn out tyres with no tread at all. The car took 123 meters to come to a stop.

Aircraft Tyres
They showed a test of bursting the aircraft tyres. The normal air pressure of big aircraft tyres are something like 250 psi. And these tyres burst at around 950 psi. They are designed so, to withstand the pressures of emergency and normal landing.

They had a couple of more tests related to vehicles. One was about the effect of the rubber compound on vehicle handling and another was about a large balloon full of water falling onto the top of a car from a good height.

Any of you guys have watched these shows?

I have been watching it regularly for a couple of months now. It is very interesting. The show just before this "What would happen if..." is also very good. Last night they demonstrated that trying to open a car via the remote over a phone does not work! They tried it with over 50 cars!

Do that without the wet roads and you'll be surprised how the roles reversed.

I saw it for the first time yesterday. So I guess, if it is a weekly show, it should be on Tuesdays from 8:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Another thing they showed included the making and history of the paper clip.

Tuesday's

"What would happen if" - 8:00 PM

"I did not Know that" - 8:30 PM

Repeat at 11:00/11:30 PM same day, other repeat telecasts does not suit the working population

Thank you so much!

11:00/11:30PM would suit me rather than 8:00/8:30PM :-)
