What your car colour reveals about you

I don't think CNW Marketing Research knows what they are talking about. Below are some 'gems' from this useless but fun research.

Quote:
People who own emerald green automobiles have the most positive attitude about the course of their own lives.
How many car makers give emerald green colours in their cars?

Quote:
people who drive red or yellow cars have below-average confidence.
For yellow cars owners, their confidence is 8.3% below average. This applies to me as I have a yellow car.

Quote:
black cars, supposedly a sign of power and elegance, are driven by the most downbeat drivers of all.
This again applies to me and black colour car owners confidence is 14.6% below average!

There are also some results on how your car colour reveals your mood swings.

When we were hunting for a car, my father wanted a green Baleno, and I think for the initial period, Baleno was avaliable with green colour.
I am not sure wheater it was Emerald Green or not.

Research has also shown that
  • Red cars are more likely to be found exceeding the speed limit
  • Australians prefer white cars
  • Silver cars hide the most dirt and red cars show the most dirt
  • Silver is a popular colour in Germany
  • Cars painted in metallic paint often cost more because metallic paint is harder to match when a car is being repaired.
  • Black cars are not popular in hot climates
  • White is considered a sensible car colour and is often used for fleet cars
  • Porche made blue cars because they stood out in the European winters
  • The latest fashion is "Harlequin" paint that changes shade depending on the light and the angle of viewing. It costs $1200 per litre.

Does this mean Farrari and corvette owner have no confidence or does it mean the companies do not have confidence in their cars as most of their car are red and than the preferred color is yellow or black.

To add "Indian" touch:

1. Silver/White/Golden (and similar colors) : I am cost conscious and want to "Hide" scratches and small dents
2. Black/Red/Maroon : I am passionate about car's looks and will spend on denting/painting regularly.

In my latest aquisition, the colour choice was dictated by availibilty, so my confidence levels and personality ought to change with the car.

I dont get it. according to this the people with above average confidence will have the most pronounced mood swings. They dont list a Mica Grey so 1. I dont have confidence and since I ahev a black Scorpio whatever little I ahve is below average.
How very Comforting.

Infractions: 0/2 (8)

what does "Turf Green", "Forest Green", "Henna Green" and this new "Rocky Beige" or even "Olive Drab" reveal?

Apparently Black signifies "high ambitions" and "White" signifies peace and purity of nature- thats a bl**dy laugh considering the vicious behaviour of the average taxicab driver in India!

They used to tell me the Bright Red is a "show off" and "aggressive" shade - also

apparently more expensive abroad to insure (when bought by a young man) as compared with other colours.

Is all this correct or just bunkum?

Things like colour, design etc are mostly issues close to the heart of women of our home. We are only left with the technicalities. So a man driving a pink CRV doesnt necessarily mean "anything" about him or his character

If one has to buy a red or a yellow car one has to have enough confidence to carry it off. So I wouldnt agree that red and yellow car owners have the lowest confidence levels. The silver and white car owners are the ones who like to be sobre and be one in the crowd and not stand out.

And if all that research is true then I should be in a Psychiatrists place as all my cars have been black, red or yellow.
