YouTube - shivaji style HI Quality

Oh my! In all honesty, I am blown away. It may be over the top but that stuff takes guts and not too many people can pull off that much kitsch. I have got to see Shivaji. Respect.

Well, I'll tell you a secret - but don't tell anyone, lol. A few years ago I was offered (in complete seriousness) a role in a Telugu movie.

I refused. They insisted for a while and gave up. I had to grow a thick moustache and play the role of the villain. I just said no and still laugh about it to this day.

Sammeiir. I'll tell you a secret. Please dont tell anyone. From the first time I met you, I have always thought, "Man, if this Sam wears a moustache, he's going to look a lot like *** ******". Pic enclosed.

I believe it's Sivaji. I went and saw it first day. Got lathicharged by the cops cause of the crowd. :D

ps: something for you to try. Take one song from the movie Sivaji and play it in your office system full on. See the response of your colleagues.

That ain't Rajnikanth, that's Nick Nolte.

I saw the You tube video and actually understood it!

Ok Sam, so that takes care of Strawberries, Tom Yum soup and even Mein Kamf. But what happened to Your Father's wedding, so to say? :D

Oh my! Oh my! Oh my!
Split bovines make good medicines I've heard. But this was over the top!

The hero in the above pic deserves an Oscar everytime he is out to act. But all he gets is some Os(li'l)cats!

Sam! Strawberries and Sivaji. What a combo!
You should've been the villain and N_C the hero. Haste haste theatre bhar jaate!

The greatness of Rajni sir lies in the fact that he is still his original, humble self.
I have heard that he moves around in no make-up/getup and interacts with his fans the very same way he looks in real- just as he looks in the second pic that you posted Sam sir.
And still his popularity amongst his fans is unmarred.

I don't think even the Shahenshah or Badshah of Bollywood can get away with doing the same.

Hello! I completely disagree on this.
Our very own DON, known to many as Gautiya, N_C, Normally_crazy, Normally_******** (fill in the stars), has been doing all the stuff you've said in your post. Including riding a bike thru crowded gullies etc..

I think you should. And the faster the better. Because the crap that comes out as Hindi movies (in all departments - direction, screenplay, acting, lyrics, music, choreography, cinematography etc etc), ain't a patch on the movies that are made down south (well, mostly mallu-land and tamilnadu).

Especially because you mentioned about Priyadarshan doing a good job up north. The movies he remakes today in Hindi, were stuff that were enjoyed by us in better form down South many decades ago, which should make it clear.

I grew up in West, North and NE India - and this assessment is after experiencing the quality of movies all over India. So this is no regional jingoism.

With all due respect, navin sir, you are seriously under-estimating the phenomenon called Rajnikant.

Well I don't think so. Quite a few movies down south are remakes of very popular Bollywood stuff. We could go on and on - to each his own.

But I should know (there is a strong reason) - there is crap that is made down south. But I enjoy watching all movies - Hindi, Tamil, Telugu - all.

And yes Navin, you sure are underestimating the aura of Rajnikant. :)

For a fact I know Rajini's (or Rajni) popularity cuts across the socio-economic-politic-whatnot divisions, mainly due to his humbleness and aproach to life.

Sam sir, you have taken much more time than your dead-line for completing your experience (I wouldnt actually want to call it a story but since Iam not getting a suitable word now, will continue with story). While the discussions can flow around Rajini and Tom Yum soup, please complete your story.

Thiyags

......also, don't forget, whatever Rajnikant does or say, becomes style! agree:

Frankly, Kamal Hasan and Rajnikant are demi Gods down South with lakhs of people behind them. I remember that when Sivaji was to be released, the news channels reported that the bookings were closed weeks before its release and that was the situtation for months! It seems these two cannot do anything wrong. Of the two, Rajni is a bigger star(?).
