Sweet tool! Crucial information for advertisers, yes. But website owners also have a lot to gain by knowing which terms to optimise. "Indian cars" showed some interesting results.

Thanks for sharing this, HPP.

Wow, great tool! Thanks for sharing the link.

From typing a few quick keywords, I realize:

1. Car Audio searches are most prominently from Karnataka

2. A majority of adult keyword searches originate from the North. Orissa seems to be an unusually hot state too.

3. No one is searching for me.

Subcontinent leads when it comes to searching "free" . Pakistan right at the top!

EDIT: Nepalese more interested in Aishwarya Rai than Indians!

You are one of the few. Since they went live recently, the word among the US auto forums is most don't like it. The results are fairly poor.

Also, the fact that they were ex Google employees actually does nothing for their product as a search engine. The reason being, they have zero right to use any code or algorithms that belong to Google. If they used/borrowed any technology, idea or code from Google.. that would be the end of them, as Google is watching closely with their attorney's waiting to pounce.

Thus, for them to be any different then any other start up search engine.. they would have had to invent(for lack of better words) a better algorithm then all others already out there(not likely). Not to mention they do not have the feature base that Google or Yahoo does.

Anyways, using "Ex Googlers" just shows the weakness in their actual products ability to stand on it's own merit.

Back to the topic at hand, yeah, this is just another awesome FREE feature Google continues to offer the world.

We've been discussing Cuil here. Most were unimpressed.

Analyze this!!

Guys,

I’m extremely excited to have stumbled upon this stuff yesterday!

Google has these really neat analysis tools

1. Google Trends for Websites

Google Trends for Websites: wikipedia.org

2. Google Insight

Google Insights for Search

Urge you to explore the same!

To start off, some the things I discovered:

1. Team BHP is the second biggest automotive site in India. (~20k unique visitors in Jan)
a.#1 New Cars, Used Cars, Buy Cars, Sell Cars, New Car Prices, Used Car Prices - CarWale.com (~30k unique visitors in Jan)
b.xbhp.com (~12k unique visitors in Jan)
c.zigwheels.com (~10k in Jan)
d.autocarindia.com (~3.5k in Jan)

2. In India, in the Automotive category, amongst the terms ‘bhp, mileage, safety and car audio’ from Jun 2004 – Jan 2009 onwards,

Interest Levels: (normalized web search volumes)
car audio (70), mileage (56), bhp (16), safety (14)

However, car audio interest is decreasing continuously (100 to 48), mileage is increasing continuously (42 to 85), bhp is increasing continuously (10 to 48), safety is constant.

All this though, is only for buyers who surf the net!

3. Web search volume in mid-Jan 2009:

#1 Xylo
# 2 Linea
#3 i20
#4 Honda City.

So, well, Xylo created the biggest excitement!

Would be fantastic to see people coming up with more interesting stuff! Needless to stay, these tools could be extremely helpful at work too!

MODS: Maybe the thread can be moved to ‘Shifting Gears’, not sure.
