Hopefully, this is the last pic we see of Mr Sanjeev Nanda outside Tihar Jail at least for another decade.

well its just a lower court verdict.
he can still go to high court, get a bail and fight a case there for next 10-20 yrs. if he loses he can still get bail and go to supreme court and keep fighting the case there till he dies naturally (or in a road accident whatever happens earlier). he'll just be spending few nights in the cell thats all!

Justice delivered. Its been 9 long years since this accident.

But...this is only judgement of lower court. He can apply in the higher court for bail and may get it also. By the time he is convicted and jailed by our great indian law, it would take another 10 years. Totally, he would have enjoyed 20 years w/o any punishment after the accident.

The Hindu : Front Page : High Court reduces Nanda’s jail term to two years
so much for the poor people who died.

Crime reduced from culpable homicide to rash driving,He'll be out in a month...

What justice are we talking about. This case is a shame and the Judge did blast the lone witness as one of the most slimy person. And because of this witness, the term has come down to two years from five. And because of that, the Nanda's are not going to appeal to the higher courts as they are quite happy with it. Also, these two years might include the time he had already spent in jail during the initial days and which means, he might just walk free from now on ...

May be they should rewrite the law. Call yourself Salman Khan or some Nanda and you can drive over anyone you want .

Call yourself 'common-man' and we will harass you so much that you wish you were the one sleeping on the footpath instead

Law in this country is a joke.
Everyone knows whose the culprit but as usual poor people die and rich people roam free.
Anything new here?

that happens everywhere because the rich can afford high priced and normally unscrupulous lawyers who only get paid according to results

Ah! Another case of money power. I wonder what more can money do. Literally I hope guys like Sanjeev Nanda and Salman Khan end up being driven over by some other vehicle. That would be one nice lesson.

The law system in our country is so getting worse that what Africa has.

I am frustrated by this. Again, Roads indicate culture of the nation. Why cant we set the things right? After so many years of independence, we are getting worse rather than improving. And absolutely nobody cares about this it looks like. I mean the common man must be united enough to take on these indisciplined drivers.

It would have been a lot less if the Nanda's took it on the chin and faced the law, They might have the means to mitigate through major compensation (which I understand they have) but to insult justice is another matter.

These guys think they are above the law. They recently got arrested for bribing an income tax official
