Looking for a dine place to celebrate my son's birthday for Friday evening. It is not a big bash but a regular dinner with around 25 people. Any good place around sec.bad, necklace road, ameerpet, J.hills, B.hills areas and moderately priced.
if you want good north Indian food, then Angeethi at Road no 1 is a good option
So I finally got a chance to check out Thai Express next to Q-mart and I have to say I was head over heels. Me and my friend went their for a quick lunch and I had the Drunken Chicken Noodles (their best seller) which was so delicious that my tastebuds had a party. I don't exactly remember their prices, but I don't think they were outrageous.
Only drawback to that place is that they are still trying to aquire their Liquor license. So for people plannng on going for dinner + a few drinks might get disappointed.

Assume you need a quiet place to unwind with your family :-
1. Blue Fox in Himayathnagar, nice cozy place and awesome food
2. Aaagan in AP Tourism office in Secbad is a nice big place and good food
3. Place above Kalanikethan, Somajiguda ( forgot the name), is a very good place for such a party, they have glass enclosure that can accomodate easily 20 people. Nice ambience, good food and very decent pricing
4. Palace Heights, Abids. Beautiful ambience with view of city from their glass windows and awesome food.
I can still rattle out a view names but i recommend 3 and 4.
Cheers and enjoy !!!

Its called Aroma - Bar & Restaurant
Have had quite a few 10 + people parties there and their food is good but in case you have a large group, keep a tab on the bill as they have the tendency to inflate the bill. Also you can get 20% discount on the bill incase of large group.

Aha, Yes Aroma. Been there so many times but its name always misses me. I too attended over 5-6 office parties there and found everything quite good. Wouldnt know of the inflated bill as someone else was paying...LOL
Btw, the maitre 'd even gave me a tour of their kitchen which i found quite impeccable.
Apart from that i been there atleast 3-4 times with my family and they liked the food.
P.S: Another unique thing about Aroma, you enter the lift from ground floor from one side and exit from other side...never seen anything like that..
Satish, apart from Aroma, the Terrace Bay Restaurant located on the opp side of the road, on the top floor of Babukhan Mall is also great. The outdoor portion of the restaurant is a great place for such get togethers. The rates are comparable to Aroma's.
SVM.
Finally paid a visit here. In the process of organizing an office outing.
Check it out find it decent.
There are restaurants on all three open floors of the place.
Ground floor has Texas Chicken.
I had a Chicken Burger (Rs 55), Paneer Wrap (Rs 29)
Guys accompanying me had a Texas Combo something. (Rs 110).
Food was decent.
Istanbul Kebab.
Its part of the old Mediterranean Cuisine restaurant from Yusuf Tekri, Tolichowki.
I had a Falafel.
6 falafels with freshly cut onions, tomatoes, hummus, yogurt with olive oil.
Nice.
Update:
The Mediterranean at Tolichowki has closed and a new Fisherman Fare.
The Fisherman Fare is part of a group that also has a restaurant in Chennai(Egmore).
I have eaten there as well. :) but nothing really great about it.
I found Istanbul Kebab very reasonably priced.
The first floor has some more restaurants but they were closed for business today till 4PM.
The restaurants included Bandi (Chats), K&B, NH7.
The second floor houses the Extreme sports bar.
Anyways I am most probably going back here on Wednesday. Will update later.
This platter was photographed at Mardol Residency, opposite D Link Ltd, Verna, Goa. How I wish it was available at Hyderabad!
That's one amazing looking platter. It looks to me easily combination of 2 or 3 platters of Hyderabad.:thumbs up
I am very very sad, have to go out for dinner today, tomorrow and day after:Frustrati
Today's Theme
Anybody been to "Sholay" which is opp to shoppers stop, begumpet?
I passed it a few days back and looks like a nice theme restuarant for North Indian food. Reviews?
Tomorrow's Theme
Chinese/Thai. Suggestions please
Day-After-Tommorow's Theme
Biryani, Biryani, Biryani...Suggestions please
Been eating a lot of north indian lately, so decided to go the chin-chin way...LOL
After a brief contemplation, we headed straight to "Chinese Pavilion" on Rd.No.1 Banjara Hills.
CP is quite oddly placed on a curvy road and parking is a slight hassle, their valet were delayed so parked on own.
Nice ambience with beautiful lightings, paintings, decor and cutlery.
Mom being a bit finicky about ambience, hygiene etc glanced around and nodded her approval.:thumbs up
We ordered the following
Veg Manchow Soup ( 2 No's) : Rs.150
Crispy Corn Kernel : Rs.140
Kung Pao Chicken : Rs.190
Fresh Lime Soda ( 3 No's) : Rs.150
Corn,Veggies, something else in Chilly Bean Sauce : Rs.150
Veg Bamboo Rice : Rs. 140
Veg Manchow was thick soup with crispy noodles floating in it. Excellent
Crispy Corn : Was quite good though a bit oily
Kung Pao Chicken : It was outstanding...Slurrrp
Gravy Curry was quite decent
Veg Bamboo Rice : This was a major disappointment. Rice looked brown, had veggies cut in pulao fashion and didnt like the taste too. Avoid ordering this dish.
Will i go again? Yes, quality is quite good and stick to some original items than experimenting and i am sure it'll turn out to be a good experience.
Total Damages : 1 crisp red colored note ( including tips):D
Had a team lunch outing at Ista Gachibowli.
The buffet is priced at Rs 800 a person.
We were about 38 folks. An equal mix of vegetarians and non-vegetarians.
The ambiance.
The table was set with some bread and butter.
I had the masala bun with tiny pieces of capsicum on top as garnish.
They then served soup. I had chicken soup.
Starters included some kebabs, chicken with some honey topping, mushrooms and best of all melt in your mouth palak cutlets.
Then attack the buffet spread.
I have become a little choosy in what i eat.
So I avoid the chats and rice and rotis.
Instead this is how my plate looked.
As you can see, the chicken and prawn were a recurring item.
The prawns were fresh and fabulous.
Orange as garnish, good.
The chicken boiled and very mildly flavored just the way I like it.
Also had an assortment of fruit juices. I had a lemonade and some water melon during the course of the meal.
Lovely food.
Some deserts on offer.
My friend's plate.

bblost,
Good report. I was there yesterday for a team lunch too. My first time there. Liked the food and the open area for lunch in this weather is a treat. I liked the garlic naan, makki ka roti and sarson ka saag. In the desserts I liked the cold cup cake with fresh fruit toppings.
Will take my family there for sure!
The hunt for a new breakfast locale took me down deeper into the dingy lanes of Begum Bazaar. The hunt for food never ceases and the finds are worth being shared. Found a real good eatery at Begum Bazaar, who makes good Butter Paneer Dosa's. Tried out his Butter Paneer Dosa, was flabbergasted. Am still lickin' my fingers.
Unlike other eateries, who use pasteurized butter like Amul and etc, this eatery uses Pure Unpasteurized Butter (Makkhan/Maska in Hindi). It tasted good with the Dosa thing.
Butter Idli is a strict no no, if you are a fitness freak. You would for sure faint if you see the amount of butter he blesses the lucky idli's with. If you are a foodie, then GO FOR IT :D
Location: Opposite to Chawla Complex, Near Fish Market, Begum Bazaar
Name: Did not care to ask for his name. Its near a Cool Drink Shop called as Mahalakshmi Cool Drinks or something.
Eatables Ordered: 1 Butter Paneer Dosa + 1 Butter Idli
Dent on Wallet: Rs. 40/- Only
