Are there call taxis available in Pune? Now that I think about it, I have never seen one in Pune?

If anyone knows of any taxi service in Pune, let me know. I am looking
for travelling inside the city itself?

Also if anyone knows of drivers for hire on a day-to-day basis, let me
know.

Called Wings Cab yesterday about cab for today - they said call 2 hours in Advance. Called 2 hours in Advance, but they said they don't have any cab available for the next 4 hours. Anyone know any other reliable cab service?

Bringing back an old thread. It's almost been a year since I originally asked
this. But are there any good call taxi services started in Pune for travelling inside the city? As said earlier, I tried wings cabs couple of times, but they never were able to send a taxi when I needed it.

I would advice you to lookout for local taxi wallas, I did the same and am happy with them. Try: justdial.

What exactly do you mean "local taxi wallas"?

Those folks who lend out there cab, qualis and other cars. They are more helpful then wing-radio, but thats mine observation.

I will be flying down to Pune next week. Many times I have seen lot of Wings Radio Cabs outside Pune Airport.

1. Do I really need to book them? or will I get one without booking ?
2. Are there any other prepaid taxis available at Airport ?
3. What will be approx. charges from Airport to Pimple Saudagar ?

its best to call 8 hours or so in advance. I usually catch the first fliight out so call the previous night asking for the cab to come at 4 or so in the morning. On the return i call up after clearing security at Delhi/Bangalore/Hyderabad.

in the past 2 years, used them dozens of times without any problems so far. worst thing that can be said about them is that they usually send a WagonR type car which has certainly seen better days. But not too bad overall.

I think it would be 300-400 Rs - not sure.

Bumping this thread since I have had really PATHETIC experience with Wings radio cab twice now.

Once in daytime the cab driver did not turn up - When I checked with their call center, they said that the driver would not be able to make it!!! (Imagine, I had to call them up to know this). Anyhow, since it was day time I caught rickety auto and caught the plane.

Recently similar thing happened that really irked me. It was night time flight, and raining pretty heavily, booked a cab at 5 pm for 9 pm, got acknowledgement. Driver did not turn up (15 min before the reporting time, that is what was in the acknowledgement SMS). Called call center, the guy at call center said "I don't know" and disconnected! Called again, kept on wait for 15 min. Called once again, with my patience running low, the person said that driver will turn up in 10 minutes. By that time I had lost my patience, and went outside to find auto. By luck I did manage to get (in Pune you will never find autos in the morning, nights and rain, oh and they are also not available during the lunch time).

At 930, this wings driver had the guts to call me up and claim that he has reached my home (but still wanted to know the exact lane/road etc). I was approaching airport by then.


What should we do in such cases? Rather what can we do?
Is there any alternative?

I have heard this about Wings quite a few times, So I have kept myself away from hiring wings cabs. Instead try Easyride cabs or T-Cabs. They have been better than Wings.

Dont know if anything can be really done against this. On most days the cabs are completely booked. I have heard of a few instances where cabs either don't turn up or refuse to take bookings for shorter distances.

About Autos, lesser said the better. :Frustrati
