The best and the worst thing about your workplace (not work)?

This is not about your work/income, but the workplace. Strictly. It can be your own business, too.

Do you like/hate the commute/company-bus, the canteen/free-snacks, the facilities like gym/pool-table/parking-lot, colleagues, work-culture, the view from your desk, the flexi hours, and so on.

Here is mine:

The best: Closer to home (commute)
The worst: Work-culture (big company politics, inefficiency)

Best things about my workplace -
1.Chilled out, relaxed atmosphere to work in.
2.My boss is based at Bangalore so no one here to breathe down my neck all the time

Worst things
1.No pretty faces to motivate me to come to work everyday.Absolutely none
2.Company trying to cut costs way too much.
3.The traffic I face everyday while commuting to and from office. My office is at Andheri east,Mumbai guys will know nothing more needs to be said.

Well I'm sure I could go on and on updating this list every 5 minutes but I'll stop here before someone sees me typing this and sacks me.

Good Thing - Freedom and Silence

Bad Thing - Silence. Its killing. Even if a glass breaks, it makes a noise as if the entire building has collapsed.

Good things:
Almost everything including work!

Bad Things:
No pretty faces ever in all the three companies I have worked. There are few in my current company but none of them are in my floor or in the same technology as mine!

One of the biggest things i like about my work:
Flexi time and work at home policies. Helps a lot to beat other problems like traffic...

Good Things:
  • Facing new challenges every day, keeps me on my toes
  • Relaxed and laid back atmosphere
  • The commute although a bit daunting in winter (icy roads) is quite scenic
Bad things:
  • Most of the workforce from the baby boomer generation, and hence due to retire soon
  • Some old-fashioned ideas and lack of innovation

Good things: Get to see lot of exotics! Work with cars which I love

Bad things: The place is too small. It's in a crowded zone so very heavy traffic. Am breating truck's exhausts most of the time.

@Pankaj, guess it is safe to assume :

and

are mutually exclusive !

Good:
1. Fortune #1 Best place to work in 2009 and in top 10 for past 5 years
2. Friday Beer bash.
3. Work from home option and flexi-timing.
4. Freedom everywhere.
5. This is my 5th year in this company and I joined when we had less than 100 people in India

Bad:
1. Bit of cost cutting and hiring freeze otherwise what bad can be there in #1 best place to work

2. Office does not have its own campus in India. I hate STPs where many offices are in one campus.

3. Work from home and flexi-timing causes less interaction between employees.
