Anyone from Hotel/Food industry?

Hi Guys. I just wanted to know if there are is anyone amongst us from the food/hotel industry. I had always wanted to start a restaurant of my own someday even though iam from an MBA background and thought it would be best to get help from tbhp.

Planning to open it in Bangalore and if someone could help me with inputs it would be really great. Not too fancy.Just a normal family place which serves good food. Any sort of help would be highly appreciated.

@Mods: I tried searching for the same but I dint get any thread specific to my need.

Regards,
Zahed

Zahed,

Offlate I have been a regular at one place called "Potluck" off Bannerghatta road. Do check out their strategy, pretty interesting. And the food is yum. If you can do something like that, I think you would be doing pretty well in bangalore.

We are all from the food industry. Beverages too, though we will not take that part of the discussion any further.

On a more serious note, is this a good time to start a restaurant?

Well I did Hotel Management from Dadar, Mumbai. Can definately help you out with the service side, but setting up a restaurant is in a different league totally. (Was never interested in kitchen side anyways)

I guess thats why I married a girl who is a chef with ITC so that i can balance things out in my hotel that I run in Jaipur now.

Send me a PM, lets see if I or my wife can help you out in anyways.
