Incendies - 4/5 Watched this on Saturday night and though I wanted to sleep early, I just couldn't stop without seeing the ending. A wonderful movie. The ending is just :Shockked: |

:-) Great choice... We do have a thread for foreign language movies, don't we? Should revive that. The lead actress stars in a recent BBC mini-series, The Honorable Woman. You should like that as well. |

Just saw Interstellar, and was blown away. But I am surprised at the poor reviews here. May because of the unfamiliar science part? The people sitting around us were sounding very confused. And we were like, that's so cool. :) My wife and I are science geeks. We used to be big fans of Star Trek Voyager in the 90s, which dealt with similar science. We also watched the recent Cosmos series from Neil Degrasse Tyson (NDT) in entirety. In addition we regularly follow talks from NDT, Lawrence Krauss, etc. So most of the science discussed in Interstellar made sense to us. The only part that was bit disappointing was the scene inside black hole. We expected to see spaghettification of the ship as it passes the Event Horizon, and it didn't happen. Not only that, the ship remained intact even after entering the black hole. The scene inside the worm hole was nothing new, it was not very different than the worm hole in Stargate. Expected better worm hole after 20 years. |

Brilliant movie isn't it? But why 4/5 ;) One of the few movies that left me thinking for a long time. Another movie that had similar effect was Revolutionary Road. |

Its a totally different story, not the same as Incendies. Is a little bit depressing though. Few non-English movies worth recommending: A Separation (2010) Osama (2002) Lives of Others (2006) Das Boot (1981) |

Ah, I'll reserve 5/5 for those untouchably, amazing movies. This was too good a movie but not a 5/5 :) Will check out Revolutionary Road. |

I love drama, slow moving movies so I'll surely try these. Another movie I liked - Downfall. Heck, I loved The King's Speech. My friends wouldn't even watch the trailer :) |

Der Untergang is good, though it got some brickbats for empathizing Hitler. Bruno Ganz as Hitler was brilliant! I love drama movies too. Considering that, King's Speech isn't all that slow or all that long. If you want to test your patience, you should try Das Boot director's cut or Lawrence of Arabia :) |
