I initially went to Ethos, but their charges are like 25% of cost of watch for servicing. Now trying out a small shop in Jayanagar 9th block. He has been ok so far, waiting for my watch to come back. ( I have a Seiko 5 Sports AT)

Please share the shop details. I need to get my seiko serviced too. Like you said Ethos watches are a rip off

Congrats on the Seiko Ice Monster!! Pretty unique piece among the hundreds that Seiko churns out every year. Where did you pick this up from- mind sharing the details? Is this from Amazon India or from the US?

A lume shot of this watch is a must- please do post one without delay along with other pics :)

Thanks! :)
Yeah, this model is kinda getting rare in availability.
I ordered it from skywatches.com .. got it shipped to US so that one of my friends could carry it for me.. all this to avoid any possible duty. It wasn't available on US portals.

And here comes the lume shot..

the most recent addition to my collection , i like my watches to be as minimal in design as possible and while i usually hate gold and other glaring colors (personal pov) , have never owned one which had it , i thought this one looked fairly elegant and i wear it only for formal occasions. Bought about 3 months ago in Gurgaon , approx 20,000 INR.

I an now eyeing the movado edge as well , i think it's a really unique looking watch (2nd picture) , i missed the sale where i could have picked it up for about 28,000 , current best price being offered is around 45,00 , will wait for another sale.

Have not been able to get myself to wear anything apart from a G-shock! Have 3 of them! And in fact I recently changed the complete case and strap of one these for about 2k! Looks brand new again!

Works good if you travel frequently and are bothered by the rough conditions around. With the G-shock you never have to bother about any damage!

Bought this on an impulse https://www.snapdeal.com/product/cas...d/642864999324 later realised its a first copy (fake) after going thru this https://www.snapdeal.com/product/cas...SABEgLOQ_D_BwE. Haven't cancelled the order yet.

You are right. Every collection deserves a G Shock and with my G Shock 5600 on, I don't bother about small hits and dings which would worry me when I have my more expensive watches on my wrist.

By the way- where is this re-casing and strap change facility for G-Shocks available? Did you get this done at a local Casio store? Details will be helpful!

Can anyone advise if this is an original old hmt pilot watch

That's a classic Bombay Redial aka Franken Watch. I don't think HMT ever came with a dial like this on their Pilot lineup. It is for sure a repainted dial and looks like a watch made out of salvaged HMT watch parts.

The movement in HMT's namely the Miyota 0231 however is robust and a workhorse, your watch might have this movement but mind you that too would be franken and made out of various salvaged parts. As these watches were made in lakhs of quantities the parts and spares availability isn't an issue. I recently changed the acrylic crystal on one of my original HMT's.

Thanks. Will get it openned to see if there is anything hmt inside.

HMT owners, are the Mechanical watches water resistant? Just ordered my first one.
