Re: Long term car parking at RGIA Hyderabad

Website shows tarrif as Rs.300/day

If I leave my car on Friday morning at 6:30am and collect it on Sunday evening at 7:00pm

Will I be charged Rs.900 or lesser? Technically its not 72 hours

For multi-day parking, first day will be charged as 300/- and subsequent days 200/-.

So you'll be paying 700/- total.

From 6:30am on Friday till 6:30am on Sunday morning where you'll technically complete 2 days.. the expense would be 500/- (300/- first day & 200/- second day)
Now you've additional 12.5 hours left till 7pm. So if you go by there hourly charges you'll end up paying.. 100 (for first 2 hours) + 440 (40/- for next 11) = 550/-.

It's better to pay 200/- than to pay hourly charges. Airport will anyways charge you 200/- and not more than that.
So technically anything above 7hrs (100/- for first 2hrs + 200/- for next 5) on first day & 4hrs (100/- for first 2hrs + 80/- for next 2) on subsequent day is treated as a day if we go by the hourly calculation.

Do they have a flat charges as you mentioned? Rs.300 for 1st day and Rs. 200 per day for subsequent days?

Also, do I have to tell them iam doing a long term parking so charge me by the day? Do they issue a separate ticket/coupon?

Thats a neat explanation. Also, I hope its safe to park the car there and see some comments that people park close to the terminal as well ( near McDonald)

Is it safer to park there or at the long term designated spot which seems to be little far away from the terminal?

Yes, they have flat charges of 300 for first day and 200 per day for subsequent days or calculation based on hourly charge on subsequent day - whichever is less. Usually, 200 per subsequent day will end up being cheaper.

You dont have to pre-declare the duration for parking ... They have a regular coupon that has time/ date stamp. I have parked closest to the terminal (near McD/ foodcourt) on the two ocassions I have used LT parking. No issues whatsoever.

I meant 2 days only i.e. 48hrs.. for ticket calculation.

McDonald area is more lively, people coming and going very often, so it is much safer I think in comparison with the areas where there is low foot movement.

They've designated areas for long term parking but I personally never used it.
The maximum I parked there (near McDonald) is for 4 days I think (paid 900/-) without any issues.

Re: Long term car parking at RGIA Hyderabad

I paid Rs 500 for parking my car at RGIA from 440 am of March 13th to 920 am of March 14th (28 hours, 40 minutes). I parked in the area where most cars were parked, and not too far from McDonald's.

The area designated for long-term parking is close to the go-karting ring, and does not have any shade. Hence it is best avoided.

Re: Long term car parking at RGIA Hyderabad

Last Sunday had to fly to Chennai and return the same day. When checked in the RGIA website, the parking charges were mentioned elaborately. But I would say its volatile. I picked up my pass at 4.45AM and handed over it back at 9PM the same day. Ideally as per the calculations, I should be charged some where around 550-600. But they charged me the flat 24 hours charge i.e., 300 Rs.

I didnt notice or aware of the designated long term parking areas, so just followed another car in the wee morning and parked near to McD. Saved atleast 2.2k on Taxi charges.

Re: Long term car parking at RGIA Hyderabad

I flew to Delhi last friday and collected the car back on sunday evening.

Paid Rs.700 parking fees

It was a hassle free and enjoyable experience and seemed the car is very safe to be parked for long-term basis at airport

So trying again.....

Iam flying to Goa today so I plan to park the car for 5 days ( I reckon longest that anyone may have parked)...But, I like taking risks so lets see how this goes

This didnt go off as smooth as my short term parking. I left the car parked at the airport from Tuesday afternoon to Sunday evening and paid Rs.1300 as parking fees

But, when i returned I noticed that someone tried to squeeze in and left a deep gash on my left rear fender. I think the mistake was mine as I parked right at the corner but, for one small gap that is not meant for parking but for walking and general space

Well, i had forgotten that there are lot of ignorant folks in this world. It was just my luck that one bumped into my car

Anyways other than that issue, car was safe and as it was parked.

I will still use this service as convenience of driving in and out at own behest is incomparable

Re: Long term car parking at RGIA Hyderabad

Updates on parking and halting vehicles at RGIA (Airport) at Shamshabad in Hyderabad.

Once you cross the automatic under-belly vehicle scanning point, you have 3 options, 1 is to turn right and go into the paid parking lot, 2 is to keep on extreme left and go up the ramp to departures and 3 is to keep right of the departure ramp and go up the ramp to arrivals.

I noticed that there is a parking lot accessible directly on the left side of the paid parking lot (without having to enter the paid parking lot) and an illuminated board there reads that it is free parking for 5 minutes. It exits to arrival ramp directly. It is just on the right side before the arrival ramp begins. Not used so not 100% sure.

All vehicles going up the arrival ramp for pickup need to take a token at start of the ramp and if the vehicle does not exit down the arrival ramp (where they check the token) within 5 minutes, the fine is 100/- (for between 5 and 10 minutes) and 200/- (if more than 10 minutes).

The GMR group now plans to implement the same rule for departure ramp too. Trial runs have begun and if you do not want to pay money, you need to drop and exit the departure ramp within 5 minutes. Not yet implemented but trials and training of staff has started.

Parking the vehicle in the paid parking lot is 50/- for the 1st 30 minutes.

Re: Long term car parking at RGIA Hyderabad

I parked my car at RGIA from 9:21 am of December 13th to 11:17 am of today (25 hours, 56 minutes) and paid Rs 450 as parking charges. My fuel cost in my petrol Fiesta would have been around Rs 410. Therefore the cost is below what a cab would have cost for both journeys. Very convenient indeed.

However, unlike last time, I could get to park only in the extreme corner of Zone D that is at the other end of the airport, close to the spot where the toll gates are located. It took me a walk of 10 minutes to reach the departure hall. As I had only hand baggage, it was fine. It looks like many are using the facility, and there was no space at all in parking slots closer to McD.

Update on hike:
As on 30-May-2022, long term airport parking has been hiked to Rs.500 for every 24hrs since 01-May-2022, if parking exceeds 7 hrs, then it translates to 24hrs. I was charged Rs.1500 for 2 days, 8 hrs of parking time.

Can you please confirm where is the designated area for the long-term parking at RGIA?

Can we park at the normal parking location?
Any idea on how crowded is the long-term parking location on an early morning?
