Hi guys,

I am sure most of you have seen 3 idiots as of now.
My opinion its a must watch. i am sure we would like to know what we have learned from the movie.

A BIG question floated in my mind - Is money the only criteria for Success?

Lets share our experiences of college days, Carrier, Friends, Campus, which you can relate to 3 idiots.

What I learnt from those Idiots: Work on what you love and work becomes a game. But again, is it always possible?

I agree, loving automobiles may land you in a chauffeurs jobs.
So even i dont thinks you can work on what you always love.

Just to give my example.. I successfully completed my PG in computers and I kept dreaming to do something in Automobiles. I have already wasted a year on such dreams. But I know, I will do it someday.:)

Quite ironic, Even did my PG in comp and working as a Soft Engg.
I wanted to join Defence forces. But was not able to make it.

There is nothing to learn.

I inquired about Automotive course at NID, Ahmedabad. They said the website will be updated. This was after my email to which I never got a reply. So I called and got reply about updated website. I did browse around for eligibility but could not get anything.

So I refused a job offer as I wanted to do something in automotive line. After the website was updated, I realized that I am not eligible as the course was open to students who either have a BE degree or have a degree in architecture. This happens when you want to follow your passion. I have till now read over 600 mags and learnt a lot from TBHP. I am sure that I am easily eligible for that course. I did not take admission in many colleges, did not go for job only for this.

I did talk there about a test or any interview they want to throw at me to confirm whether I am eligible or not for automotive course. But rules are rules is what I heard.

This happens when we go behind passion. Its a different story for those who have money. I tried some automotive comapines too, but there also reply was " 4 year degree " and I am just a BCA.

India is not a country where you can follow you passion. You have to let the things go be it love of life or your passion towards some stream. Thats why my view on 3 Idiots in " hindi moveis thread " is negative. I have tried to fight system only to lose.

When I saw 3 Idiots, all I could remember was my college. This is the story almost every college in India.

aaggoswami, you haven't understood 3 Idiots. That's all I can say for now.

'All izz well'

I know its cheesy to quote that line, but the message I got from the film was all in those 3 words. No matter what happens, life will always turn out for the best. Why fret over things? :)

Samurai, really inspiring story there. You are the 4th Idiot for me.:)

aaggoswami, you have understood 3 Idiots in the opposite way I guess.

Being pessimestic is not going to help.
I have a best example of my cousin, who did his BE mech.

We went ahead and did MS in automobile engg from UK.
He is working @ ford motors UK now in some hifi engine design technology.

Need to mention, India must have some really good intitutes for Auto. technology, because studing in foreign countries is not everyones cup of tea.

Great film.

It may be too idealistic for some, and even not-so-practical at times in real life.

However, IMO, what it does really well is it 'shakes up' your conscience and your emotions on some very key aspects.

About what you think, what you do, what you dream and so on .. It is going to be a great impact on people who are on the verge of choosing a career for themselves for sure.

For others who already are in some daily mundane stuff, primarily to get their monthly paycheck and support 'life', well, thats going to be tad tough.

Eyeopener nevertheless.

Kudos to Aamir & Hirani on the concept/story.

What I learnt from 3 idiots:

1. Always say "All izz well".
2. Always aspire for excelllence, money and success will follow.
3. Never do a thing without understanding its full consequences.
4. Follow your heart.

The BIG question guys

Money = Success ?

^^
Its personal. Depends on what you define Success to be.

For some, it may be. For others, not!

If your 'goal' is to have X amount of money by X period/timeframe.
Then yes.

Having a good bank balance and not having satisfaction @ work is not success is my view.

We should love what we do, and success, money, fame will follow.

thats what the movie says. To be precise Rannchod das chanchad says.
