I still remember while going for exams, I used to watch his Sharjah Aus inning before going to college for the paper. May God let him play for years to come

Congrats Sachin! and Congrats India...

I have utmost respect for him for coming back again and again and proving his critics wrong.

He is the cricketer of the century probably only next to Sir Don Bradman.

But, can we compare his innings with that of Saeed Anwars? Saeed Anwar played in times when there were no power plays + it was a day and night match + the stadium was slightly bigger.

Saeed Anwar's innings:

R M B 4s 6s SR
Saeed Anwar c Ganguly b Tendulkar 194 206 146 22 5 132.87
SR Tendulkar not out 200 226 147 25 3 136.05
I want to reiterate, I have much much more respect for Tendulkar as compared with Saeed Anwar, and I believe SRT is THE greatest. Consistent performance of significance for 20+ years is no mean feat and I dont think any one can come close to Tendulkar.

But, just comparing the innings, what do you guys think?

EDIT: Ironically Sachin took Anwar's wicket Soney pey Suhaga

I know that Sachin has a regret that he has not been in a world cup winning team. I sincerely pray and hope that he plays in the world cup and gets it once again to India.

@vasanthn21- Did sachin played most of his knock with a runner?
No, but anwar did and that was a deliberate one as everyone could see he has no injury.
God can't be compared to a human
Btw this was a day-night too.

I don't think they should be compared at all. Lets enjoy the moment and pray that he continues his amazing form into the world cup and may INDIA win it.
As harry said "human can't be compared to GOD".

Hats off to Sachin !
This was an amazing innings. He never gave a chance to the SouthAfrican bowlers. Was in complete control throughout the 50 overs, playing as fluently as ever.
If somebody deserved a 200 it was only him.
@ vasanthn : Saeed Anwar's innings cannot be compared to Sachin's bacause Anwar had used a runner most of his innings.
I dont think they can be compared.
And moreover it was just a one off performance by Anwar. How many 150+ scores does Anwar have ? only one.
Sachin had 3 150+ scores before this. How many others have 3 150+ scores in ODIs?
Viv Richards had 3 i guess. Even Ricky Ponting has only one.
SACHIN'S THE GREATEST !

Truely brilliant innings! I watched part of it, and it was a privilege to watch it. Though I am not a major fan of Tendulkar, this innings has to be there right at the top of my favourites. Kudos to Sachin. You deserve it.
