She is a business woman and will give the people what they want.
So see, you already one happy Indian there already.
Best way to enjoy these serials (if you really must watch them that is and if you have a bunch of loony friends around) is to turn off the volume and feed in your own dialogues.. gives a new lease on creativity.

you are comparing oprah show with saans bhahu serials?
atleast in oprah she tries to solve real life problems
& it is a talk show which is far more different than those saans bahu serials

there is a defference between being funny because being rediculously stupid & doing some monkey business
& being funny because of talent

one thing seriously I don't get is why don't indian tv producers use concept of "season" ?
e.g. one season runs for six months then next six months its something else
instead they keep on adding generations after generations upto some thing like celebrating 3000th episdoe

I didn't equate the two. I'm simply saying that Oprah is as much about glycerine as the Saas-Bahu serials. I don't understand why a whole bunch of people in the studio as audience cry in unison for someone's problem. In any case i am not a fan of either Oprah or the Ekta Kapoor products.

whats wrong in being ridiculous and silly if it takes your mind off other troubles and makes you laugh ! or are you saying being ridiculous cannot be funny ?

i prefer anyday being ridiculous and laugh - maybe i live up to my nick !

and yeah my view on oprah - idiotic !

Re: Indians are 4th happiest - true?

The world's happiest countries: 2022

World's happiest nation is Nordic:

Quote:
For the fifth year in a row, Finland is the world's happiest country, according to World Happiness Report rankings based largely on life evaluations from the Gallup World Poll.
The Nordic country and its neighbors Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Iceland all score very well on the measures the report uses to explain its findings: healthy life expectancy, GDP per capita, social support in times of trouble, low corruption and high social trust, generosity in a community where people look after each other and freedom to make key life decisions.
Denmark comes in at No. 2 in this year's rankings, followed by Iceland at No. 3. Sweden and Norway are seventh and eighth, respectively.
Switzerland, the Netherlands and Luxembourg take places 4 through 6, with Israel coming in at No. 9 and New Zealand rounding out the top 10.
Canada (No. 15), the United States (No. 16) and the United Kingdom (No. 17) all made it into the top 20.

The Almost Finns like me are thrilled and agree. At the risk of sounding Philosophical, I'll say this anyway - Happiness is a state of mind. It's what we feed ourselves. I hated life in US when I migrated there briefly from Finland but I'm back here now. Scores of our bhpians who live in US are really happy and will be so too. The table of Happiest Countries doesn't really make a difference.

No, sad and depressed Finns already committed suicide and could not participate in survey.
