How can one 10 tablet strip be considered as bulk?

Has the small time medical shop setup his shop for some reason other than making money?

Everybody sets shop to make profit. The way you make your profit is more important.

Sorry :-) Missed the 2nd line.
Bills tend to get lost, mixed up, misplaced, given to company for reimbursement etc.

2] do we need judgement by court to prove it?

Asking if there is a law in Delhi or in the country mandating cut strips.
I don't know - hence asking.
Unless there is a law, it's not right to call it malpractice.

When i was in Goa, i was told my medical shops, they dont cut strips anywhere in goa, And i tried in 4 shops, all of them refused to cut strips of any tablets, even commonly available one. I think this is Govt rule in Goa.

Nope, Most of them cut and give only the amount prescribed.

That part of Goa is official strip-the-tourists-of-everything-possible area. Not really Goa.

No govt rule. In Goa, you even get one tablet if you want.

Baga/Calangute is no longer in Goa. It is now located in Europe :D

One of my local pharmacy stores refused to give me anything less than a strip. His argument was that the tablets costed only 25p and I had to take a full strip , even though the doc had prescribed only 6 tabs.

Another shop in my locality did cut the strip and gave me only what I needed, as prescribed by the doctor.

Is this the general practice in Bangalore - force selling medicine ? Shouldn't they be selling only what's been prescribed by the doc - even if it's one tablet ? Does anyone know the legal position on this ?

There are a couple of medicines I need in bulk i.e. 40+ strips of each. Where can I get a good discount - and how much discount can I get? Are we directly allowed to buy from manufacturers or distributors?

@Carboy, just check with any MR if you know anyone. He may be able to source them for you though his contacts (or he himelf if he works for the same company).

Well, I don't know any MR. Nor do I know anyone who knows MRs.

In that case, best would be to check with the pharmacist in your area (don't go to Apollo or Wellness stores).

Carboy
Hi
Definitely the best would be to know a MR.
However nowadays quite a few chemists give 10% discount on the MRP.
Ask and you may be surprised.Officially they are not supposed to give.
Incidentally in Indore I saw boards at quite a few places offering upto 40%(operative word is upto)discount. As I didnt need anything so didnt check
Regards

May not be. I have tried to get glucose test strips, but they would sell it only to a med shop. You can ask your chemist for a discount, though.
