Kerala Police does it again! Cams all over the city!

I had seen some at Kowdiar and read about this in the newspaper. They also carried a picture of it. Currently only Trivandrum has it.

As of now there are ten plus cams around the city and more (love this, more!) are coming. Some cams are brilliant (360 view one are there with zoom!). I cant reveal more.

Kudos to the people behind this; kudos to Kerala Traffic Police

Well done, we need some over here in Bangalore too. And fine anyone breaking the rules, no matter if that's a high class sedan or an auto or a Bus. But problem is that they doesn't work properly at night and people take advantage of it.

There are cameras installed in Bangalore, but thanks to our traffic police for switching them off at their will.
Once I did recieve a photo of talking on mobile at a signal a year or so ago.

Great initiative, if it makes people drive safer. Hope this is not short-lived though.

There are cameras all over Chennai as well but I doubt if most of them work. Yesterday the Kerala home minister and senior cops were in Chennai getting tips from TN cops on how to set up a control room and operate them etc.

Seat belts are compulsory in Trivandrum? You must be kidding. Weren't there any protest similar to the ones for making helmets compulsory?

The cop said seatbelts stop the car when i lowered the window, the senior cop said 100 bucks i didnt argue, though i stood there for 5 minutes to check if they are stopping every one, but guess everyone was being stopped.

Even i was caught near Guruvayur for not wearing seat belts while I was searching for some decent restaurant to have lunch. They fined Rs.100/-.

What cameras are those - speed radar cameras or just surveillance cameras?

Hoping that this time they come up good. Traffic system is really bad in Cochin and Bus drivers make the full use of the opportunity. Hope this camera can spot them.

I think they already have cameras installed in major junctions Kannur. But I am not sure they are installed it for managing traffic.
