Speed 97 Launches in Bangalore

Hi Bangalore Bhpians,
BP unofficially has launched their Speed 97 fuel in bangalore. Presently only available at Nagpals pump opposite imperial hotel. A litre will cost you 60 bucks. The fuel lab report shows that the fuel is 98.3 octane. So pretty awesome news for us.

BP will be officially launching Speed 97 in bangalore in a weeks time.

Cheers
Dom

I think BPCL has launched 97 selectivly through out india. When i was in coimbatore last week end, it was available there too.

Also the pump guy told that they have also stopped selling system-g as the pump station has been declered as some kind of "clean" station or some thing to that effect.

Yes true, they are going to stop Speed 93 and have 97 instead. Thats what the BP guys said. So whichever pump having 93 will have 97 probably.

They've been selling Speed97 in Chennai for the past 3-4 months. I didnt know it was so hot news.

They were first selling it for 55 bucks/litre. Now, its gone upto 60. I guess enthusiasts would buy it even if it were sold for 70 bucks. Dont u think so??

PS: Dom, nice to see ur posts.

Yes, if u have travelled from cochin to bangalore, you will notice price increases steadily, though very small, upto hosur. After that there will be a one big jump...

domnic do reply to it ! ! !

Car might run smoother but very little gains anless you tweak/ reset ECU/ ignition/njection system. Speed 97 best suited for the high end imported performance cars

hi guys, as far as my poor engine knowledge stretches higher octane fuel actually helps with better performance only if the compression of the engine is high right?most indian bikes like the bullet, splendor etc to name a few hav quite a normal compression ratio. what i feel is speed 97 most of d plays a pschycological trick in the owners mind. for that matter anything that we pay more for we feel performs better. i hav an 83 ht rd350 and after personally using 97speed for a 200km+ trip realise that there wasnt any difference at all. bike experts please clarify the actual usefullness please.....
