I hope that's true. I was never sure on why he was selected in the first place and that too he debuted before S Khan. Sometimes, thought process of our selectors are pretty ambiguous. R Sharma could have been flexible and promoted Jurel instead of Jadeja. He has read the pitch from both front and back and moreover it could test his ability as well.
We have KL, Kohli, Bumrah and Shami not playing and in the test team. I think we have good pool of players now even if you were to have different combinations for different conditions. Pant will add to the lineup. Sorry to see Patidar not using the opportunities.
So guess tests are good. Its T20 they will concentrate on next ?
There seems to be a run out lurking around the corner. Jadeja is a terrible runner.
Ideally, wanted one of Rohit or Jaiswal to be not out. But I'm backing Gill & Jadeja to score the majority of the remaining 74 runs.

If it's gotta happen, then it happens when scores are level :D
Wow and suddenly the balances have tilted/balanced. Amazing to see the inexperienced England Spin bowling attack making life so difficult for us.
India 149/5, England definitely have a chance now!

Sarafaraz got out 1st ball! Though Patidar hasn't scored much but his technique and overall batting style is appears much batter and hence Selectors showed their trust.
Jurel name should be ahead of both sarfaraz and patidar in future, also ahead of Iyer, he has done an amazing job in this test match. Hopefully he bags the Man of match award. Sarfaraz anyway will need to warm the bench once both KL and Kohli return, in between a three man shoot out Jurel will pip him.
The way he has played even once Pant comes back, maybe they can alternate as keeper and both play, loved his technique and temprament.
Special mention to Gill, curbed his attacking instinct and played a gem, hitting couple of sixes close to winning position, needs to get more consistent batting first also.
17th Straight series win at home from 2013, Australia is way back with 10. This is not getting broken anytime soon.
Great Job Team India, to come back after first test loss and with many regular players missing, this team has done us proud.

It is like saying I am good at BODMAS but cannot solve a question on Limits. If he had a good technique and more importantly a good temperament, he would have atleast scored one 50 or even few 30s.
Jurel should be the Man of the Match. Too early to say but he need to be given more such opportunities to play. He may fail sometime or the other however it is important he is given the confidence of a long rope. Let's not compare him with Pant as of now. Let Jurel play few more test matches especially outside Asia and then compare him with Pant.

Brilliant partnership between the two. Jurel is the find of the series for me, along with Jaiswal.
This should be Gill's coming of age innings. The talent is there, he just needs to stay grounded and keep working hard.
Quite a fantastic win ! India were down on the rope at 170-odd for 7 wickets in the first innings and with the need to bat last on a tough pitch a defeat seemed inevitable.
Jurel certainly the man of the match for me - Its after a really long time that India have a player that seemed unfazed under pressure in both innings and in fact, brought out his best game in trying circumstances. His poise and his self-confidence eventually made the difference after Jadeja (seems to withdraw into a shell under pressure) and Sarfaraz got out on successive balls. Totally early to call out - but that self confidence and body language under pressure - was MSD like.
A coming-of-age innings from Gill too - curbing his natural instincts to play a grinding innings.
Special mention to Kuldeep - his batting for more than 100 balls on his own in the first innings - and his solid partnership with Jurel, was terrific. Not to mention his bowling in the second innings.

With Iyer consistently failing at #5, Jurel should take his position and be given a long run, I don't think he can be compared to Pant. Pant is a beast in Test Arena, hopefully he comes back as strong as he had left. I see both of them playing together in future if he continues to perform.

Not sure what you are referring to, Australia holds the current record for the maximum consecutive home series wins at 28 series wins. For the moment, it is we, who are a distant second.
Jurel has been fantastic and is easily my MoM. What a find he has been for India and hats off to the selectors for picking him despite his inexperience at FC level.
Sometimes, a player comes along who looks just the part, and Jurel looks exactly like that. There is no need to rush Pant back now, and even when he is back, he is going to have to work hard to win his place back.

Australia has 10 from November 1994 to November 2000 at home after which they had a 0-0 draw with newzealand, India has not lost/drawn any of 17 test series from Februrary 2013 at home.
Just found this
link confirming the same.
Edit: Just realised they did not loose but they ended up drawing the series with newzealand in 2000. Hence the record is with India. Comment updated accordingly.
