Edit: India Vs France, Ten Sports - 8:00 PM

Some good news finally! India is thrashing France 7 to 1 with 18 minutes to go. We seem to be short corner specialists!!

The thing is we Indians never learn. We always try and follow the path which makes us look all good and generous and compassionate. I am pretty sure if it would have been Sachin blocking the ball today instead of hussy he would have been given out. Similarly if Hussy would have been in SRT's place with an Indian bowler blocking him then Dhoni would have happily taken back the appeal. Just the other day we let a Srilankan batsman to continue after Ashwin run him out after repeated warnings.

The Indian team needs to realise that cricket is no longer a gentleman's game. The whole nation and the media treats it as war. So don't pretend otherwise.

Sachin's run out was the lowest point of this series I feel. He may be out and lee may be innocent but it was clear to all players on the ground that time that SRT was surely blocked. They were batting quite well and things could have unfolded differently if they had continued.

Again the rotation policy is another stupid thing. What do they mean by giving exposure to the youngsters for 2015 WC. Do they seriously want us to believe these guys will remember anything by that time? Or most of them would still be in the team? You cant rest your top players and keep rotating them and then expect them to fire whenever given a chance. Poor decisions by Dhoni for sure.

This is definitely :OT for a Cricket thread, but on a Sunday that brought only sadness for the Indian cricket fans, thanks to our hockey team we should end the day on a good note.:thumbs up

Frankly, we the innocent fans have given the game of cricket too much importance and see what our players give in return.
But we were the undisputed champs in hockey for a long time till the whole way the game was played changed, and we could not adapt and adding to that our administrators of the game took it such a state that it lost fan following. It's now time to support our hockey heroes and resurrect the sport and time to forget about the cricket players !

That is what I used to feel when India toured Australia in 1991 (Sachin's first tour) because every time we went out to play, we will be 4 wickets down for nothing in less than 10 overs.

Srikanth hit the most stupendous straight six at adelaide off Patterson bowling at 150+ kph. Bill Lawry saying, 'it's going, going, going, gone !!'.

I don't have much hope of India doing wonders in the last game. Currently even winning low targets is a big challenge, forget about winning it with 10 overs spare to gain the bonus point. Only thing left to see would be if India would go all out to get the Bonus point and in the process lose the game. Or they would play to win the game irrespective of the bonus point situation.

That SriLankan batsman was leaving the crease without any regard to rules of Cricket. Then how is that running him out is not in 'spirit for the game'?

Even if Lee had blocked SRT deliberately, SRT is out. SRT (& other batmen) have to plan & judge their quick singles better.

Just realized that India have never batted first in this series. Any team with batting strength would like to bat first, put runs on board & put pressure on opposition while chasing. Dhoni might be better batsman while chasing but India's top order does well while batting first.

Its high time that we stop watching cricket.
as Dravid had told in the bradman oration, we should starve these players for money because too much of money has made this present generation of cricketers casual and irresponsible towards their profession.
sigh!! no sense of application.

anyone going to watch this year's IPL5??

I agree with that dude and thats why I criticised that decision in my last post. We Indians always take back our appeals and let other batsmen continue. this policy needs to be shelved.

No you are wrong. If the bowler obstructs deliberately then the batsmen is not out. This is why SRT appealed and the umpired discussed the same but felt that the blocking was not intentional. The Aus team could have allowed him to continue since they very well knew that without the blocking, intentional or otherwise, he would have made his crease.

Whether Lee came in the way intentionally or not is debatable as it all happened in a matter of seconds. But i would have liked to see a better effort from Sachin. It was not as if they banged into each other to complain.

Hussey's decision on the other hand was an absolute shocker. Can't believe that a professional cricketer got away doing something so disgraceful.

At the end of the day we are all cricket lovers. Guess most of us on this thread would land up watching :)

Terrific fight back by India. Well on course to get 321 in 40 overs.

From Cricinfo - "it took them two months, but India's batsmen have finally announced themselves in Australia." lol:

1 excellent win, all the past evil will be forgotten.
Media .... sigh!!!!!!

WOW! India win inside 37 overs and gain a bonus point!

Cheers!

So a couple more ad contracts for Kohli.

So what have we been doing for last 2 months? Being a cynic that I am, I really hope that Sri Lanka wins that March 2nd match.

But to be honest, a great day of cricket. Malinga might need quite some time before he could recover, not too sure why he has been consistently "throwing" the lollipop low full tosses! Well done Kohli and others!

India's net run rate is lower by good margin than that of sri lanka. Even SL looses to Australia than what's the chance that India will make it to finals?
