Dear expert members,
Kindly pardon me for a noob query. Say I have two credit cards, both of which are accepted at domestic airport lounges by simple swipe in. Now if me and my wife travel and want to use the lounge, can I swipe the two cards so that we both can use the lounge??. Is there any difficulty, technical or other wise in such a case?.
Any pointers shall be very helpful.

Yes, you can 2 of your cards to get access to you and your wife. I recently did this (3 cards) :)

Very much doable also check with the lounge or your credit card customer care if it the card allows 2 persons to use a lounge. Some card do allow. I recently used my HDFC Regalia Gold for 2 of us.
I guess your question is whether only the card holder has lounge access. The answer is NO.
2 cards means 2 persons can use the lounge. Some cards do allow 2 people on the same card but that is rare.

You are right. i do have once a year expenses like insurance, flights etc. But am not sure it would be prudent to get CCs for each use case, cause then I might end up with too many!! |
Never said that. That's not the way to look at Credit Cards but those spends too need to go on Credit Cards to give bigger perks.
For Example - 4.5 Lacs worth Annual spends on a SBI Vistara Prime Card can get you 4 Premium Economy Tickets and CV Points worth about 3 Economy Tickets for Domestic Sectors. In this case, the cumulative spends across most of the day to day categories count.
Add an Amex Platinum Travel to it and you can spend another 4 Lacs on this card thru the year to get Rs. 10,000 worth Taj Vouchers and about 48,000 Amex MR Points. Convert these Amex MR Points in Marriott Bonvoy or additional Taj vouchers and you effectively have Flights thru SBI Vistara and Hotels thru Amex for a 3-4 nights vacation.

As long as the name holder of the car is present, then you can enter your co-travellers on that card. So even if the two credit cards are in your name, you can enter your wife on one of those, not an issue.
My wife got Lifetime free offer from ICICI Sapphiro and she took that. Now ICICI has issued two cards, one being Amex and the other being Mastercard. What is the point of having two cards? And is there a benefit in switching to a Visa card? the CRM has said it can be done.

I recently linked my Axis Bank Ace CC to my Gpay, and have been trying to pay my electricity bill (approx 6500), but the transaction does not complete giving me an error message that the UPI limit for the bank has been exceeded.
Called up help they said no reason for the error. :Frustrati Any one facing a similar problem? What could be the solution?. |
Update to my problem. Contacted Gpay customer care, they fixed the problem after one false start.:Cheering:

Listing in points for better understanding:
i) It is the way ICICI operates. They give dual variant card with shared credit limit. Amex variant has higher reward rate, but it is not accepted everywhere due to Amex network. When you hit that hurdle, just pull out your Mastercard variant which has higher acceptance.
ii) You will get BookMyShow Buy One Get One offer twice instead of just once.
iii) Number of Lounge access is also increased. You can check the Visa lounges and Mastercard lounges and see which make more sense to you and then make the switch.
iv) You can avail the Amazon or Flipkart sale offers (whenever applicable), twice instead of once.
Hope this quells any confusion you have had.
Thinking of leaving Axis Vistara, any suggestion as to which Axis card?
This would be the no 2 card in the lineup.
Already have HDFC Millennia, IDFC FIRST & ICICI Amazon.
I have been having multiple payment timeout issues with Axis Bank card. I have an ongoing transaction dispute caused by transaction timeout. It is going to take minimum 30 days to fully resolve. I am going to wait and see how it pans out.

What about the kid?
Do we need to swipe 3 cards for card holder, wife and kid or there is an age limit criteria for kids?

They don't check who is going to use the lounge. All that matters is eligible cards. I have taken travel buddies in using my cards. Priority pass even allow multiple people on one card.

This can be a little misleading, so good to specify here that Priority Pass would cost approx. Rs. 1,700/- per person including primary card holder for domestic airport usage unless you have Infinia or Magnus.

Although if I remember correctly, they charge ~29$ for the additional person in international lounges.
