help with .msi needed

i clicked a download link yesterday and without giving the prompt any attention i downloaded a file which i supposed was a .exe file but it turned out to be a file with a .msi extension please help me and inform me how can i use this file

its a MicroSoft Installer file... in a windows with 'Windows Installer' installed... this file should ordinarily execute and install whatever it contains.

you cna get Windows Installer for
Windows 95, 98, Me here

Windows NT, 2000 (Validation required)

Windows XP has builtin windows installer 2.0
