What's the purpose of Genetic Algorithms /Programming..?
I have some experience in Operations Research, LP & Erlang's Calculators & stuff..

Genetic Algorithms are used in Optimization problems (maximization/minimization)... its pretty faster than conventional methods of optimizations (like the graphical methods, simplex method etc) when solving multi variable and multi parametric problems.
The power of GA can be felt only when the number of variables is greater than 2, below 3 it is inaccurate and much slower than similar methods.
