Just happened to visit this website www.iqtest.com. Its a good online test to give you a rough idea of your IQ.

There are other websites as well but feature slightly harder tests, this one is fun.

Though at the end of the test, it asks you for $10 for detailed results, but never mind as you still get your score by email.

So lets have a poll here ....

This is how the score is classified...

Intelligence Interval Cognitive Designation
40 - 54 Severely challenged (Less than 1% of test takers)
55 - 69 Challenged (2.3% of test takers)
70 - 84 Below average
85 - 114 Average (68% of test takers)
115 - 129 Above average
130 - 144 Gifted (2.3% of test takers)
145 - 159 Genius (Less than 1% of test takers)
160 - 175 Extraordinary genius

Hmm, I got 140. A little higher than what I got when I took my first IQ test at tickle.com, that one was 138.

But, these don't really mean much. I have heard that one can improve their IQ score by practising these kind of puzzles. In fact I stopped using analytical or IQ testing question papers in our company recruitment process after I started seeing every tom dick and harry crossing 125.

In my opinion IQ can't be really measured, there is no way to remove the bias of some kind or the other from these tests. Math oriented people score high on these tests compared to artistic people, which is an unfair bias against the latter.

Each IQ test site has a different format of calculating IQ. Some sites take into consideration, age, sex and even the region...
Yes. I agree that IQ is not a sure fire way of telling that either you are smart or dumb.

Some IQ sites give IQ results on individual parameters like maths, analytical skills, memory and so on

i got 134.just managed to get into the gifted category.but as mentioned before.every IQ test has a different way of calculating and none of them are totally acurate.

Ture, there is no actual relevance of these IQ tests as one can improve the score by practicing similar types of questions.

BTW, I managed 135 myself.... 'gifted' with score I guess!

interesting case study we conducted at georgian college about people with high IQs..and results v got very remarkable to say the least...theres a footage about a man with highest IQ in the world..and hes a bouncer at a private club in MInnessota...strange uhh..and on top of that he savours his lifestlye with not being so rich as he could have been..he says he'd rather be that way than indulge in politics to create brouhaha n mockery of his talent...pretty impressive ideas he had about how to lead lives ...emotional man for whom having a high IQ is nonchalant...hes least bothered...

ASK some one whos just cleared ICS test or CAT? IIT nerds...or IIM fundus...

I got 130.. Guess most tbhpians are gifted looking at the poll results!

I got 147 (the test must be flawed) Just managed to qualify as a "genius". Cool! Though it wasnt cool when my boss asked for a status update while i was taking the test and i had to tell him to be quiet.
