What to do in case of an Accident or Breakdown

I want to drive drown from bombay to goa, just wanted to know what should be done in case of an accident or a breakdown enroute?.
Does maruti, have a helpline number on this route for breakdowns.

Also if any one can be kind enough to share their experience's on this route.
Good petol pumps to fill at & food joints.
Any spare parts to be carried along on the drive fan belt etc?

Moderators please shift this post to the right forum if need be.

Please check with your dealer on the toll free number info. I have come across a thread on the essentials for long driving which link is given below. Go through the same.

When u generally get into bypass, you note down the highways partrol number and emergency hospital numbers. Share the numbers with all of them who travel with u.

U CAN GET help service from Sai Service authorised Maruti, which is in Porvorim Goa (suppose u need to carry out some repairs which dont need immediate attention rather than do it on the roadside garage u can drive to sai service). Its on the stretch between Mapusa and Panjim, approx 8 to 10 kms from Mapusa and couple of minutes BEFORE the Mandovi bridge connecting to Panjim.

do carry tool kit, fanbelt, couple of fuses bulbs, puncture kit, jack, a litre or two of engine oil, check the coolant in ur radiator (mentioning this as my bro in law had his car almost in flames), first aid kit MUST.

mumbai goa is a 2 lane road with oncoming traffic ...so i feel you shouldnt be doing night driving ...if you start around 5 am you would reach panvel by 6 am ...which means there would be day light ...but keep your parking lights on even if there isnt any need for headlights so that you would be visible to other road users

about the maruti help line ...its a waste ...recently my friend crashed his versa on teh bangalore -salem road and when he tried calling this toll free number it was

about breaks ,take a break every 2-3 hours.....enjoy your drive
