Parking rates likely to shoot up in Delhi The Delhi government is planing to increase the car parking charges in parking areas as well as residents also need to pay for parking their cars. The motive behind this move is to boost public transport and get the revenue from people for using prime land for parking.
I am sure if this is applied then the government can surely control the number of new vehicles which are being purchased (approx 1000) every day.
As per the plans, here are the charges: Peak Hours: Rs 50 for first three hours and then after 3 hours it will be Rs 50 per hour Non Peak Hours: Rs 30 for first three hours and then after 3 hours it will be Rs 20 per hour Residents of Delhi: To pay Rs 1500 per month for parking their cars on roads. I am sure this is NOT an easy task to apply in Delhi. Quote:
