Commuters at times wait indefinitely for an auto rikshaw and at the same time there will be auto rickshaws waiting at a nearby stand without any trip.

FindAuto is a service launched by a team of students from College of Engineering Trivandrum, which aims at making the local transport easier by bridging this gap.

The operation procedure is simple;
1. send SMS as FAUTO source * destination to 9266680802.
2. Auto drivers nearby are alerted.
3. If auto is available near by, the phone number of the driver will be sent as an SMS.
4. call the driver, convey your actual locations and discuss the fare and finalize.

Same is possible via there website and android application also.

The service will be officially launched by former Chairman of ISRO, G. Madhavan Nair, tomorrow.
So far, the site says, around 300 auto drivers had registered with them. The service, in its incubation stage, is available only in Trivandrum city.
