Ola forms "Quick Response Teams", and deploys "Safety Scouts"

Male and female personnel as ‘Safety Scouts’ to be deployed in hotspots across cities along with a special fleet of Quick Response Teams (QRF) to action emergency calls, claims Ola.

Quote:
New Delhi: Shared mobility provider Ola has announced that it has deployed hundreds of safety scouts and formed a Quick Response Team (QRF) for ensuring better safety to its users. The safety scouts will work in Delhi-NCR, Bangalore, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Pune, Chennai and Kolkata on New Year’s Eve.

Ola has also deployed Quick Response Teams, a special fleet of cars with a first aid kit and trained personnel to attend to emergency situations through the night.

For this, the ride-hailing company has collaborated with the police in cities like Pune.

Commenting on the initiative, Arun Srinivas, Chief Sales & Marketing Officer, Ola, said, “At Ola, we are committed to our mission of building mobility for a billion people and building a safe experience is an integral part of this mission. New Year’s Eve sees a large number of people going out for the night to celebrate, and through these efforts, we are encouraging people to take a safe ride back home."

He further added, “We are proud to assist the efforts of the on-ground police forces and together, help citizens and consumers feel secure.”

Re: Ola forms "Quick Response Teams", and deploys "Safety Scouts"

My experience with Uber on 1-Jan last year brought out some ugly truths about how the drivers push to driving continuously for 36 hours at a stretch to make the most of the taxi rush, compromising on sleep and rest.

Not being a society that prioritizes labor welfare, I hope Uber/Ola watch out for their drivers first, since they won't cut down on their continuous work hours.

Some drivers might have unruly "festive" passengers where such teams might come in handy.
