This is just a short detour from the Southern Peripheral Road that connects Sohna Road to Jaipur highway. I do not have the exact coordinates but try to locate a Radha Swami temple on your left if you are traveling from Sohna Road side, towards Jaipur highway.

You will notice a road which goes left along side the temple. You will have to take that road and about a km into that road, you will see another small temple on your left over a small hill called Baba ka Mandir Pahadi. Continue straight and take the next left, you will reach this place as seen in the pictures I have shared.

Re: Pics: Your first post-lockdown highway drive

Did a lockdown run from Hyderabad to Jorhat in Assam some time back. Had to rush due to a family emergency. The drive was quite an experience in itself.

Some of the images are from in and around my hometown.

Re: Pics: Your first post-lockdown highway drive

This was 100 Km ride from Coimbatore to Palakkad, Kerala and back to Coimbatore on a Sunday morning.

To be honest, I wanted to ride till Walayar checkpost and come back (approx 50 K) but the weather was too pleasant and it also rained for about an hour so decided to ride till Palakkad and have breakfast and then ride back. It was a good long ride after so many years. Had an awesome Ghee dosa and cofee to fuel my ride back. It was 10/10 ride.

Re: Pics: Your first post-lockdown highway drive

My post-lockdown highway drive was carried out for one and only reason - To lay my hands on Tata ALTROZ

A cousin of mine has recently bought the Altroz in the month of June and since then, I have been eagerly waiting to experience this machine. He lives in a city called Trichy in TN and I live in Chennai, which are 300 kms apart. If not for the lockdown, I would have been with him right during the delivery of this beauty. But that wasn’t possible, and I had to wait till the relaxation of inter district movement in the state.

So, we both decided to meet at the center point between Trichy to Chennai. 300 Kms of highway drive just for this meetup.

And here are the two cousins posing together

Re: Pics: Your first post-lockdown highway drive

Completed a road trip of 722 kilometres on my TB350 in 11 hours last Saturday. Faridabad-Jaipur-Agra-Faridabad. Was a wonderful drive. Enjoyed it all through. The nature was at its best. Never seen such a lush green Rajasthan. The dhabas i chose to have my food were totally desolate. Only one person to cook-serve-take payment. Roads were mostly deserted.

Will let the snaps do the talking.

Re: Pics: Your first post-lockdown highway drive

Went cloud chasing with some photographer friends around chitradurga and clicked some good ones of the dusty. It lost the right side ORVM yesterday to a pole but performed beautifully in the semi off road conditions. Happily chugging along at 212k kms
Ps- the last picture actually looks like a brochure shot, not bad for a 5 year old vehicle.

Re: Pics: Your first post-lockdown highway drive

My after lockdown trip was driven out more out of compulsion then actual urge for me to drive. Had to reach pune and considering the ongoing pandemic it was the safest of the ways to reach. The journey was rather a long one about 2000km covered over the span of three days. Route taken Mandi (Himachal Pradesh)-Chandigarh-Delhi(Eastern Peripheral Expressway)-Jaipur-Nasirabad(Ajmer)- Bhilwara-Mount Abu-Ahmedabad-Vadodara-Surat-Mumbai-Pune.
All cities were bypassed and the roads were buttery smooth throughout. Though reasonable amount of traffic was there on the highway still the bigger concern was rains during that time. Road near Surat was jammmed for 5-6hrs courtesy Google Maps we were rerouted via local routes before we could hit the jam and we saved good 5 to 6 hours of journey time that day. Some facts
1. Total Distance covered - 2000km + Change
2. Total time driven - 26 Hours (over the span of three days)
3. Fuel economy - 22.4 (AC on through 90% of the journey)

Somewhere on NH1 (Chandigarh-Delhi Highway)

Near Mount Abu. Look at the weather in the background. Rajasthan can surprise anybody with amount of Natural Diversity.

This teacher's day took mum out on a short drive. Like many others the online classes has been a headache for her. She was delighted to be on the road after days of staring at the screen.

Re: Pics: Your first post-lockdown highway drive

Hello BHPians, Today I went for quick one-day highway trip. The places I visited were beautiful, refreshing and surprisingly clean. I visited some of the places earlier but one new place which I visited today is "Markandeya Hills". If you haven’t been here, then I would strongly recommend Bangalore guys to visit. I stay in Whitefield, and this place is just 48 kms from my house.

Trip Details:Start time: 9AM, End Time: 5PM
Must to carry: Home made food, water, snacks, masks and sanitizers.

First visit - Markandeya Hills: Better to reach early so that you enjoy sunrise. If you are unable to go early, at least reach by 1PM. Post that, temple priest won’t be available in temple and you need to wait until evening for darshan. Two and four wheeler will go until top of the hill. Roads are narrow and you need to honk at every bend. I was pleasantly surprise after reaching this place. Temple is situated on top of the hill and view is mesmerizing. I would strongly recommend for relaxing in this place for some time. There is another place nearby called as “Belli Betta” which is good for trekking and temple visit.

Second visit - Avani: This place is located very near to Mulbagal. This temple has history from the age of Rama and there is a hill situated adjacent to temple which is must visit. Google will provide more information on this.

This is indeed a nice 5 kms stretch of hilly drive. Did a quick drive last week.
This stretch is quite famous with cyclists and runners as well.

Hi Vipin Kumar
At Mt Abu we stayed at colonial manek manor hotel. Not one of the best stays as the maintainance of the suite was not up to the mark, however the location was pretty nice.
Due to covid, the prices are really discounted these days. We got a good deal in Four Points by Sheraton, Jaipur and it was a nice stay with complementary breakfast.
While going towards udaipur we stayed in Lords inn udaipur and it was also one of the best stays we had.
The sanitization was well taken care of in lords inn and sheraton with lords inn providing masks and personal sanitizer aswell.

Re: Pics: Your first post-lockdown highway drive

Yesterday I drove to Jodhpur from Gurgaon. Started early morning at 4:45 AM. Topped up petrol at Bawal. Breakfast stop at Highway King, Neemrana. However, we had home made breakfast (parantha etc. for which I had to wake up at 3 AM).
When I entered Jaipur bypass, could see many Mini Coopers, probably some meet-up. The group was visible upto kishangarh. Liked the aquamarine colored minicooper and the beautiful driver!!
Road towards Pali was almost empty, except cattles attempting suicide.
Upto Jaipur some long trailer trucks (without containers) were going like snakes. Found their brothers in pali road as well.
The Google map did a goof up. It shows a right cut just before jadan towards jodhpur from the highway. Asked the locals whether this road goes to jodhpur and they say yes....there would be little kuchha road. Being in Gurgaon we encounter kuchha road/ no road everyday , so I didn't bother. First few km were butter smooth. Then a broken road through villages (near a samand Lake palace) and then it was a construction road. Low slung swift car can't take this road. And for a newbie like me this route was very tough. Somehow I could find some flat kuchha road and took my Swift without any major event. Near Jodhpur another incident happened. 3 young caps (teen agers) were riding a bike and had a stick in hand. I could see them from a distance and tried to avoid, honked. But I had to apply a hard braking because they tried to stop the car.
Somehow I could escape the place.
In jodhpur it seems all monuments and forts are closed!! And this hotel seems to be a pure vegetarian!!! Flop show altogether.
