The accident occured at around 2 am on Suraj Kund road two days back.
This road is by pass road to Delhi avoiding the Mathura Road n it has lots of curves n the roads are fantastic to drive on. Its said that the car has rear ended a stranded truck which was parked on the road. In the accident the owner who is 75 year old & the driver have lost their lives.
May their souls rest in peace..

probably he was not fast but the car went under the truck and hit the truck chasis from the top frame first, which is usually not that tough.

Exactly, the way the roof is crumpled, it looks as if the car went under the rear side of the truck. Whatever the case, its really terrible. I keep hearing of accidents of stranded lorries on the highway. Almost 9 out of 10 accidents are because we cannot see these lorries parked on the road. Almost every time they dont even have a warning signal/light on for other drivers to see they are on the road.

I lost a cousin recently in a similar way, went and rammed into a stationary lorry because it was pitch dark and couldnt see it in the night ( due to the sudden high beam from opposite vehicle).

Government should issue strict warnings to all transport owners for complying this simple/basic rule which will help saving others lives. This hazard equipment should be made compulsory for all lorry owners to carry.

Wheww, when will people learn?????

If only the traffic and driving rules were strictly enforced and people inculcated some civic sense, so many lives would not have gone...

May the soul of the victim(s) rest in peace..

The other intriguing question that props up is why did not the air-bags deploy in a car that is reputed for its safety features. For the LHS to be crsuhed so badly the impact must have been quite severe. Or is it a fact that as rumoured and suspected, the air-bags deploy only in the event of a head-on since the trigger to release them is located right in the center of the chasis.

Its quite possible they might not have been wearing seat belts, even airbags are useless without them. Also once inflated airbags deflate quickly for easy exit from the car.

ouch, another good car destroyed. looks like the car ran right into the lorry, surprising it did not oversteer and hit smash rear end first.

Again shows how important its is to have underride guards as spoken about here. No matter how good your car is, A pillar can only do so much. Refer to this for more.
