Schoobus toppled | 15 children injured

A schoolbus just toppled a couple of hours earlier at the end of Juhu-Versova Link Road opposite Nini Dhaba. According to the news, I guess 15 children are injured and sent to Cooper Hospital.

From what I gather, I think the bus was quite fast, hit the divider, went over it and toppled. I was there around 90 mins later, yet there are news vans there and about 40-50 policemen and women.

This is real bad. I do not understand why school buses, of all the vehicles, should go at high speeds. How old was the vehicle? Often, school buses are ancient vehicles, purchased from bargain sales from some state transport undertaking / or sold by its owner since it is at the end of its life time. Hope this was not one such beast.

Hope there are no fatalities. School bus drivers should be sensitive, well trained & well paid.

And yes, I'm confused on how he lost control ORRRR how can he drive soooo fast. Because these are three lane wide roads. And come to think of it, he completely misses the turn, hits the divider and is on the wrong side of the road.

The bus, after they straightened it:

Divider:

Some debris lying around. All that mud you see is from the divider:

All the busses and vans carrying school kids should have the speed limiter (cut off) at 40 kmph. As everyone know speeding up will result in only saving few mins which is not worth with those kids on board

yeah! thats strange. school buses are supposed to be yellow with two blue horizontal stripes. AFAIK - the private / chartered buses are supposed to be yellow in colour in case they are carrying school children.
i hope the children are doing ok. the speed limit is fixed at 40KPH (atleast in Cal). IMO the bus was travelling at a higher speed. how can the driver be so irresponsible?

I think this bus would have been hired by the school for daily pickup and drops for kids, its not actually owned by school. This is why its not yellow, it doesn't have speed limiter, the driver doesn't know how to drive a school bus. I guess main culprit is the school management. They should understand the value of human lives.

i sincerely belive in the following.
1) The School Management should be punished severly. There should be levied a very heavy fine on them. So heavy that they are in the red for 5/6 years. Becase i sincerely think that schools today are only behind MONEY.

2) Give a death sentence to the driver. If he has survived.
