I am launching an EV Fleet business for employee transportation for corporate employees, Vehicles and financing are ready, already have a few interested customers. Wanted to get some detailed insights from the forum based on which I would finalize my pricing:

1. Is the pricing per seat (# of seats in the car e.g. 4 in sedan, 7 in MPV)?
2. What is approx. run per day?
3. Hours per day.
4. Avg. amount which a fleet operator can earn per car (how much do legacy operators charge clients?)
5. Avg. driver salary (maintenance, repair, insurance etc is mine)

1. The pricing is based on per km. For 5 seater & 7 seater, luxury cars cost per km will vary. Define packages. Companies prefer packages like 1hr/10km, 2hr/20km for city trips.
2. Depends on corporates. Usual city runabouts will be around 40-100kms max. Not more than that. In some cases, like trip to outskirts distance can go up to 200kms but that is very meagre.
3. Each shift can be up to 12 hours per day.
4. Fleet operators can earn on average of 4000 per day. Outstation trips can bring as much as 10-15k in 2 days. But the ratio of outstation vs city will be like 20-80. Again, it depends on corporates.
5. Depends upon the fleet operators. If you own car and employ driver, you need to set driver earning per km. If you charge 20/km, driver can get 3-5/km with some basic pay. Other mode will be to set per diem for drivers. This will again depending upon how you set your fare per km. Or how you negotiated with your clients.

Thanks for the response - we plan packages of 8 hr, 12hr and 24 hours. in areas like Delhi NCR the daily run could be around 200 km per day

Since in EVs larger vehicles are uncommon so we are going with Sedans (4 seaters)

Plan for small packages as well. 1,2,3,4hr up to 8hours. Post that it will be 12 hours package . No need for 24 hours package, it will be day wise trip and should be charged accordingly.

Having MPV is critical for this business as some corporates insist giving them MPV's even when only one person is travelling. Most common one will be Innova Crysta. Trust me, with Crysta you can earn 8-10k with just couple of trips in a day which might not be possible with sedans. Think about it.
