Palio head on with Amby in Chennai

This is a incident which happened this Diwali weekend in Chennai. My friend drives the Palio 1.2 which is a 2003 Model. He met with an Head on incident with a Amby in Chennai. The Amby was owned by one of the famous call center in Chennai.

Picasa Web Albums - Arun - Palio Crash

I was not allowed to take picture of the Amby as the guy was a lot furious about the damage to his vehicle which he did not expect, but i can list it all out.

1. The front of the amby got crushed exactly in the center. Trust me the Amby looked in a real bad shape.
2. The front doors broke out on impact.
3. The windshield broke (I assume the driver got a bang on it during impact)

This incident gave me more confidence about the quality of the word Safety in a Palio.

Drive safe!

From your pic, i can see the Palio has not suffered much damage at least to the exterior, while you say the amby was crushed badly.

Makes me think Palio is better in build quality than the amby but what I'm also wondering is about the crumple zones to absorb impact. Wouldnt this transfer the force of the impact to the occupants???

This is more or less expected out of a new gen amby. The chassis is only spot weld onto the body frame, lot of parts even fall off even new cars. So the fact that the Amby suffered more damage is hardly surprising.

But had he hit a Pre-Mark4 car?!

Disapointing to know that the Amby doesn't even have brute strength going for it any longer.

How did the accident occur?

from the pics, the palio has hardly suffered at all, when you compare it to the damage as said has happeed to the amby. i thought amby was a very strong car that can come like a road roller and crush everything in its path.

From the looks of it, the palio's frame might have taken the impact.
Check its chassis thoroughly.
