Today morning while driving on NH8, I was standing on the crossing of Shankar chowk to take a U turn for Cyber City, when from no where a Tuck banged my car's right side rear door. I was in shear shock and feeling the Impact I was sure that I have been bitten hard. First thing I blocked the truck and asked him to come to side. Looking at the impact, dent was big but no paint was scratched. I told him I am calling cops and they will settle it.

On that he told me to take 200 Rs and let him go, he said "Thoda sa to scratch hae" (just a little scratch). I felt like punching his nose and tell just a little bleed.

Anyway police came in pretty fast, in 5 minutes. They neogtiated for 1500 Rs, of which they gave me 1000 and kept 500. And I was ok with that, because I was sure that without police, they would not have given anything above 300Rs. BTW I am not a body builder kind of guy, who can afford to punch blows :)

1 Hrs lost, Time wasted, could not get parking in office, went straight back to home.
a quick look and TASC quoted, 2500 Rs for denting and painting.
On the way, asked one denter, if anything can be done. He said he can do dry denting, and paint is intact. Cost 450 Rs. I was impressed but was not sure about the quality. Took the chance. Job done in 1.5 hrs. Good job I think. See the pics to judge your self. No Painting job.

Before Dry Denting

After Dry Denting

nobody can tell that the car was dry dented on the door

is dry denting the dry ice denting method ? if yes very impressive

Dry denting was nicely done and that too for a paltry charge!

Am looking out for such a place in B'lore?

afaik drying denting is done with a hammer and some past

its only good if the part is not repainted before

Wow thats a really nice job, cant make out that it was dented.

Does anyone know a place in B'lore which does dry denting?

Wow. Looks good. Cannot identify that the door was damaged so badly and repaired. Guys anybody in Bangalore. Have to do the same for my Ikon Roof where a coconut has fallen and has a dent. Has no paint peel off.

No its not using that ice method. They used standard denting tools, but applied rubbing past on hammers and body before hitting.

True, I have seen these denters and painters done some amazing job on almost destroyed cars. So thought of trying one.

Good, no injury did happen to anybody. Also you did a good job calling police instead of getting directly engaged with those truck guys.

The repair job is done decently , for that price (kinda Unbelievable). Hope no door lock issue or door/window glass alignment problems were caused, the impact looks pretty hard on the photographs. Lucky to get away with sub 500 rs. expense on repair and a day's leave from office.

Yes, I checked it, no door lock, glass roll up or central locking problem. door handle was bit hard after the impact, but small hit with hammer on the lock hook, and its ok

Nice.. So you basically made a profit after getting hit by a truck !! :) .. Now thats a first. And, u also got an excuse to bunk work stay at home for a day too !!

Nice to see skilled work --- and pictures of the guy actually doing the job.

Glad it was no worse for you and your car. It must be pretty scary to find a truck almost on top of you

now thats the problem with IT world, you can work from any where, so we call it WFH, work from home (some times Work For Home lol:)..

BTW profit part went to some poor people outside Sheetla Mata Temple on my way home. Bought lots of fruits and distributed it to beggars there.
