New Toll Booth on IT Highway

This morning while coming to office- i noticed a board "Site for Toll Booth" on the IT Highway- just after Cenza - Perungudi.
Anyone have any idea on this? I don't think i want to look foward to paying toll for daily drives.

Yep, saw that today on my way to work. I think it came up during the weekend - do not remember seeing it last week.

From what I hear it is going to be Rs5 for bikes, Rs10 for cars and Rs20 for vans (the source mentioned that the rates had come in the newspaper some days ago). If bikes have to pay toll, I am sure the locals will make hell for the Govt / toll-company.

That Makes it Four...I am one among the Four T-BHPians to see the board.

Also,pointed the same to Wifey too.Think the Toll would not be for Two Wheelers and ofcourse we will have the option of Monthly Pass.

Is this road ready by any chance? When I was in Chennai (about 3-4 years ago), some of the lanes used to end abruptly and lo and behold, you had houses/shops in the middle of the road !!

Some 8kms of this road (from Adyar end) can be called ready (though still some work like median etc remains on 3/4th of these 8kms).

well, i was just thinking - the majority of traffic is busses and bikes. So they will HAVE to start tolling bikes. damn.. this is terrible.
