Last one month has seen lot of activities on ITPL road. The reason- IT companies are now in to a new project of building their own speed breakers on public roads. Call it public service or public nuisance.

Some big companies (not naming any) started this and suddenly even a company with 10 employees have one of their own. Does this make the biggies feel bad? Yes and they want to differentiate. Now you could have more than 4 speed breakers within 100 meters.

At the rate construction (of speed breakers) is progressing, this road would surely find a place in Guinnes book.

Scene-Today morning-Yours truly heading to office

Half the road is neatly blocked, with a sign board saying "Contstruction in progress". I promptly stop the car, blocking the rest of the road.

Here is the conversation between the security/workers and me

Me: " Who is doing this stupid thing on the road?"
Security (Proudly): "Our company"
Me: " Who authorized you to do this? Do you have permission from PWD, BDA, BMTC......(whatever)?"
Security (Looking around for support): "Sir...sir"
Me: "I want this crap removed by 3 PM, else I'll see you sitting here and digging it yourself"

(I have no plan to implement what I just said. As a citizen, this is the least I could do. Atleast the whole work stopped for a moment. I didn't hang around to check what happend next, else I wouldn't have been writing this)

Its 3 PM now. Let's stand up and welcome another contribution from IT sector to India-Another speed breaker.:Frustrati

Why are they doing this? Its because of high speed driving in ITPL?

On public roads?? Thats sheer arrogance.
But, just out of curiosity, are those speed breakers any better than the ones that randomly come up around shops, residential areas etc?

first they built a road where you can drive without any break and then ... then put speed breakers!

what the hell!!!

Considering that, the great condition of our roads, and the amazing rate at which our roads degrade into nothingness, I suggest we all opt for hovercrafts instead of cars.

WK, which road is this?
The one from KR Puram to ITPL OR Marthahalli to ITPL?

Call them morons! Instead of spending money on building speed breakers, why can't they improve the existing roads, and even better- do something to spread the message of good road habits.

Some people know how to spend money in the stupidest ways possible.:Frustrati ..as for public service, forget it. Its oblivion..

Heh. I'd be happier if they fill pot-holes in front of their office with same enthusiasm.

There is one road near Government offices I have counted 12 speed breakers in less than 1 km.

A company in Electronics city implemented parking lot speed breakers on road!. (Those rubber thing bolted to tar) . Very harsh once you go over it.

Believe me, that rubber thing bolted to tar is very painful to run over. And in our campus we have dozens of them . And you know what we have concrete all over . Thats gets smoother day by day ,giving no grip at all .

I nearly BUMPED my Swift over them last night at Graphite to Vydehi route. Never knew it existed before 15 days. Damn the BREAKER

Good thing about those bolt on speed breakers is that they break apart after a couple of months if heavy vehicles like buses and trucks go over them. The one in my office has broken 2 days after installation :D

Is your office in the 'Embassy Golf Links Business Park' campus? Mine is and these speed-breakers are an absolute pain.

Well, they are well shaped for sure, but size is definitely a problem. Also, the zebra marking disappeared within a day- so much for quality!

This road is the one inside EPIP industrial area.

By the way, today all cabbies are on strike. Believe me, the traffic was much smoother, though heavy.
