Guys.... sorry I've been off the boards for a while, but a month ago I was in a massive accident.
Happened travelling from Bangalore to Kolar, on the national highway.
Single undivided carriageway, massive pothole, the friend that was driving swerved to avoid it. Probably the worst thing to do, but it's completely instinctive, so no blame there.
The hard swerve sent us into an uncontrolled skid, and then to our collective horror, the car began to flip. We were doing around 120 when it happened, so the car was still carrying a hell of a lot of momentum when the flips started... we flipped a total of 6 times. I'm not kidding... for me time kinda slowed down during the whole thing, so I counted the flips.
The 6th flip took us off the highway and down about 40 feet into the fields, where the car came to rest on its right hand side. I was in the front left passenger's seat, and hanging from my seatbelt. Had to unhook myself and crawl out the front left window, which had gone.
All said and done, all three of us in the car were lucky to walk away from this one alive. I don't know how any of us survived, to be honest.
Ive got one thing to say to everyone on this forum... PLEASE buckle up. Whether you're just driving around the corner to the store or whether you're on a highway. The fact that we had our seatbelts on saved our lives, no question about it.

Where exactly is the pothole?
You are very lucky to come out of that without injury. What is the total damage of the vehicle coming to. Is the vehicle repairable ?
Very lucky indeed. it's a good thing that the rear seat passenger was wearing a seatbelt as well. Most people think seatbelts are only for front passengers to prevent them going through the windshield in case of head-on collisions!
With 6 flips, the car showed good rollover resistance as well. A M800 would have been crushed.
Oh thats one Accident which appears car almost fully damaged.
I am happy that you people survived. Our roads are very bad for fast driving I don't know when our country understand this and come up with long lasting roads.
Lesson learnt from this accident: Over speed is always dangerous!! irrespective of how good driver you are.

I always insist on safe speeds like 80-90kmph even in any good roads and TBHP people should advise on this for sure because everywhere here people target for over speed in any meet.

How was the rescue mission after the crash? Thr Front bumper still looks very neat thou after the bonnet, papad look a like!
That reminded me, I've to check my rear seat belts and hooks, cause most seat cover fitting guyz put the belts and hooks behind the seats so it doesnt come in the way!
That was a bad one ghostrider and definitely you guys were all lucky to walk out of that mishap. Brother ! having a stock set of tyres (From the pics it looks so) and cruising @ 120KMPH, now thats a bad idea to ever hit that speed and no offence to your Pal's driving capability. Anyways, please be careful and thank heavens for walking out of this.
your cars looks to have withstood the crash relatively well.

Good Lord! Nice to know that you people are still alive!
And after reading these kind of things on this forum, I have inculcated and made it a HABIT to automatically reach out for the seat-belt the moment I sit in the drivers seat.
Thank god for being lucky to narrate that incident here in T-BHP.

Thanks for posting to let people know the risk of sharp swerve at speeds above 100 KMPH. Its better to ride over the pothole and damage the suspensions
ghastly. I am impressed with the structural strength of the cage. I'm honestly not sure of the same for my VDi :(

OMG. Very bad incident. But really nice to her all 3 are safe. Yes, seat belt is a MUST.
And yes, please let us know the spot of the pot hole.
Thats a Indigo CS right? Seems new too. So sad to see its condition.
