Looks more like his lungi belt to prevent the clothing on his lower half from flying at 90kph.

Ooh, shudder to think what would happen if he had even the smallest of spills.
Wonder how he gets on to the bike, with the lungi and the crazy belt to negotiate. That in itself would be arduous.

Rightly observed, even I think the same, the particular object has so much of sharp teething around and looks like made up of a metal.

It looks like a large blade, which has be held from either sides to cut the trees.

I think that is Jayan (He lives )on a bike.
What would you call this guy ?-jayan0.jpg
cue Jayan's voice
" Oru Chuttuvaal undayirunnekil......
..... Belt ayittu upayogikkamayirunnu!!"

translation for the non mallus - Jayan is the mallu equivalent of chuck norris or vin diesel. there is a popular set of jayan sayings - of the format "<ABC> undayirunnenkil<XYZ> cheyyamayirunnu..."
roughly translated to " If I had <ABC> I could have done <XYZ> "

the above translates to , "if I had a saw, I'd have worn it as a belt "
Of course , the effect is lost during translation
