Another feather to the Bangalore road infrastructure.I was visiting a friend who was being admitted to the ram krishna hospital in front of infy gate in Electronic city and it was raining like hell.Thought would park my ride on a corner and in doing so found that though the level of water on the road was same, but the level of road wasn't.There was a 3 feet deep drain which was being constructed and as usual was not demarcated by any signs or symbols.
And I ended up parking my safari right over that drain. Both the back wheels were in the air and the entire vehicle was resting on the engine housing:Frustrati
Took some pics when the rain water drained away.
I would let the pictures do the talking.

The traffic police came down and called all the local labourers to pull the beast of the drain but to no avail.
Then a JCB was called but I outrightly rejected as they had no rope to tow my safari out and were intending to claw my safari out using the JCB arm:Shockked:

Finally out of frustration I called Concorde motors and to my surprise within 10 mins their tow vehicle arrived and magically pulled my safari out of that drain.Total expense of this stunt - Rs.331. I really appreciate their fast service.
And not to mention not even a single scratch on my safari. Its still the same as it was before going down the drain. No cosmetic nor engine damages.

I have fallen in love with the beast and Tata motors ...all over again.

First thing you should think of is to file a suit against the Bangalore municipality or whoever is responsible for digging that drain and leaving it totally unmarked when it was so deep. Maybe even the state government can be made a party to the lawsuit for it's deficient, negligent and potentially life threatening services to the tax paying citizens of the city.

Isn't the right lane a no parking zone ? IIRC the lane opposite is used for public parking.

No i had to turn left to get into the hospital's parking. But before I could do so ..I was in
the drain.

@Zappo- This is worse than bangalore muncipality. This is a privately held and operated SEZ.The first IT hub of Bangalore.Electronic City.It privately held SEZ's are like this then what can we expect from the Red taped ones.

Man that would have been frustrating!

But good nothing major happened to the vehicle!

Concorde(Hosur road) is for sure good!

I can imagine how you might have felt. A dreadful experience! Thankfully, Concorde has sorted it out for you.

Ouch! That would have hurt!

Good to know that the vehicle came out without any issue! I guess anyone of us would have fallen for this. No one would expect a missing ground on the side of the road!!!

Yeah I had actually gone numb for some time.I consider my vehicle as a part of me and very possessive about it.Seeing it stranded in such a condition was really frustrating and helpless.

Even the tata guys were surprised as to nothing happened to the vehicle. And above all the beast ensured its occupants are safe. All we felt as a slight thud when we landed there as though we just crossed a hump on the road.

Quite contradicting on what you have mentioned in your next post. From what I know the parking in on the hospital side and not on the side where your Dicor is. Any thoughts !!

Hey Bhagwaan.Alright I am not that good at articulating stuffs.:Frustrati
Whatever I was planning to do ended up in the drain.
Hope that sums up all.
Sorry for getting you all confusedlol:

well, even if you parked on the wrong side, there needed to be adequate warning of a deep ditch filled with warning lying parallel to the road.

Exactly :Frustrati

Update:Another swift went down at the same place.:deadhorse

I am glad that it did not topple over. Why would the municipality bother?
They are doing their job the only way they know to do it. LIKE FOOLS.

Gosh.

There is Road Widening work happening at that road, if anyone can notice.

Why blame the Municipality, they are at their job.

Bangaloreans don't have to go outside the city for OTR adventures. It is an integral part of our daily commute. :uncontrol :Frustrati

(I never thought I would use the smileys - Uncontrollable Laughter and Frustration in the same sentence, but hats off to Bangalore roads for making it possible. I really don't know whether to laugh or to bang my head in frustration seeing the condition of Bangalore roads)

@ Alter_Ego - Sorry to hear about the incident. Glad to hear that there was no damage to your priced possession and also glad to hear about the fast service provided by Concorde Motors.

Thumbs up to TATA and Concorde.
(I've already used my quota of 2 smileys, hence can't use the Thumbs Up smiley)

BTW, what happened to the Swift ? Any updates ?

Bangalore
