Does anyone know whether OMR toll accepts FasTag payment? Has the state government implemented E-toll payments? |

No, ECR toll gates are still using cash. Fastag has not been implemented yet (Neither has the hardware been installed as of today). I'm not sure about OMR (but it is probably the same case) |

I do the Chennai - Pondy, Chennai - Trichy routes sometimes. No fixed intervals between visits. What are my options? Is there no cash payment option at all in the toll plazas, or do they charge more if we pay cash? |

I was told that these are state run toll plazas hence won't accept fastag. This was as of yesterday. |

It costs Rs 100 to buy, you can order it on Amazon,3 days for delivery, 5 mins to activate. Why not just invest in one? |

That's interesting. There was news of ECR and OMR toll gates to start accepting Fastag earlier this year, even though they're run by TNRDC. |

As part of the Metro rail project, there were soil tests carried out on the Mount Poonamallee road (St. Thomas mount area). After the drilling was completed, the drill hole was covered with cement. However, they did not keep the filling till the level of the road. As is normal practice with drain manhole covers, they filled it higher than the level of the road. Consequently, each one of them is at least 1 or 2 cm above the level of the road and in some cases almost an inch above. These are extremely harsh on the tyres. At the least, these protrusions could be shaved off. Here are pictures of some of them. |

People who used to take the Moopanar Flyover and take a U turn earlier has to take right under the flyover. U turn is prohibited now. |

In two months, toll plazas along East Coast Road (ECR) and Old Mahabalipuram Road (OMR) in Chennai and its outskirts will get radio frequency identification (RIFD) based FASTag lanes. |
“It will take nearly two months to equip the plazas with FASTag readers. Simultaneously, we will update the existing system with ETC software. It will facilitate the local resident pass (LRP) holders to use FASTag lanes. If they have already fixed FASTag, it will be integrated with their LRP,” said an official in TNRDC. |
Across the city’s 10 stations, the average noise levels during the day was 67.8 decibels (dB), much higher than the equivalent figure for Delhi (61). The area around ASHP Hospital in Mumbai is the quietest among the metros (54 dB) but still noisier than the limit (50 dB). The area around Paradise junction in Hyderabad, a major commercial hub and a traffic chokepoint, is India’s loudest (79 dB). |
