I recently happened to drive down from Hyderabad to Kollam and back. One thing that struck me was the enormous opportunities that every stop on the way afforded by way of birdlife.Without straying more than 100 metres from the highway.

All the pictures I would like to post here were taken on the return journey.
I would like to start with a group of Cormorants on the Changanachery - Alleppey road

We made a small detour to Siruvani near Coibatore and we happened to see Pelicans near Perur.

There's a lot more to come as the journey has just begun.

Damn! And I thought this was a thread about birds causing nuisance while driving. Nice photos there. Its not the birds but the moths and ilk that keep smashing on the winshield to disrupt smooth driving.

Migratory Birds

In winters, birds migrate from poles toward equator to avoid freezing cold. These must be the migratory birds from far north, may be Siberia.
Dec-Jan is a good season for migratory bird watching in India.

Regardless of the disspointment I think this is a happier thread. So yeah!! lets see some bird pics.

Unfortunately when I reached there, it got conscious and stopped dancing. It was wooing a peahen

The other pics are the after-effects

I also caught an un-caged parrot.
