hey guys check this out i got a k&n replacement1st b'day so decided to take her for a spin on my favorite greater noida expressway , wre i had touched my previous best of 155 (all speeds excluding the speedo error) got a pic of dat on my fone bt wus kinda unclear so this time decided to take a friend along to see how far she goes pushed her to the limit !! and gues what it crossed the 160 mark !!!! thats where the speedo for a zen ends!!! feels gr8 !! got a video of the speedo crossing if someone can tell me how to upload it!!!

I hope the road conditions were supportive of this high speed run. Drive safe, sport.

BTW the MPFi 5 speed 800 goes up beyond its highest mark on the speedo.

There is great freindship between speed and death so be careful. At those speeds you are not only endangering youself but others as well. The pedestrian safety rating of Zen is 0/5. Just read how lucky a fellow bhpian with a Getz was when a rikshaw came on freeway. In US/Most Europe the highway speed limit is 110/120 kmph. That also on roads that have no potholes or rikshaw walas or pedestrians and with cars that have airbags, engines, tyres to support those speeds. So going 160 on an Indian road is absolutely suciadal. Unfortunately even with poor road and car conditions, lack of law enforcement has led to ppl speeding at their will and pushing the limits of their cars. India is not Autobahn, roads are not safe, drivers are not forced to go to schools like Germany to get a license, and the cars are not designed for such high speeds.
So as a fellow bhpian I would recommend not only you, but other fellow bhpians to always remember that between safety and thrill choose safety. You might be single, but you might ending up killing someone who has family and kids. We here are the educated Indian drivers, we should be the trendsetters in safety and high driving standards, not a bunch of outlaws. Please take this post in the right spirit.

My speedo has touched down in my Endeavour on the expressway...180. The car is completly stock.

 180 in an Edeavour...you were trying to take off or something!!

Does Endeavour really touch 180? Maybe the speedo is bit too optimistic ;)

Endeavour? 180??? Was someone pushing from behind?

Aseem, your advice on speeding is correct, but it's like smoking. If you're a smoker, you'll agree with all the scientific data, public service messages and sanctimonious types who tell you it's bad...but you ain't gonna quit.

Well its like smoking agreed but we do have laws that dont allow ppl to smoke at public places, so as to save the passive smokers. However in India law enforcement on speed laws is non existant, if someone drives 180 kmph on a highway in US he will be jailed and would be a felon. However in India we almost boast that we have gone 180 on our road conditions. This is not just unsafe for the driver but the pedestrians and other drivers. So just to reiterate the point, with great power comes great responsibility. Every westerner has cars capable of doing 180 kmph and even roads that can handle it, but they still choose to have speed limits and comply to them. However here in India where the roads are appaling, the cars not meant to be driven at such speeds, we are really playing with fire to speed so much. I am sure everyone is entitled to do as they please, but being a responsible Team BHPian I feel its my duty to tell speedomania and sahil, that they arent doing any great miracle by driving so fast, but being highly irresponsible. I am sure if Sahil drives 180 in New York, we wont be reading his posts for a while.

i was gonna say downhill too!!
esp with the weight and size of that thing!!
But that is still amazing.
and how planted did it feel?? I mean could you turn the wheel , change a lane, or its
good for straight line? (just curisosity, no offence intended)

aahh, this brings back memories!

how far was the gas station when you were flooring the car ????? :D

ooh about 150 km's away!! Used to get 230km on a tank and I had only done about 80 so far! The temperature and fuel gauge used to work intermittently, so I never relied on them.

Hey, the car cost me $650...whatdya expect! :D

hey aseem !! its not about being irresponsible dude if was doing the same everyday on ring road i would agree with you but i chose to go to the expressway as it is elevated and fenced with minimal amount of trafic and no POTHOLES! also it was about testing the capabilities of my car its sumthing that im not going to do everyday!! and if you think that speed is dangerous and you shouldn't have that much power then i dont think you would be that interested in k&n what you had pm'd me asking about!! also i'd like to ask have you never touched anything above 150kmph in your life in india? ever??
i know speed can be dangerous but so can living in india ;-)
